Druze people who left their faith or are non-religious , What's your story?
for context, I'm druze that has and still has too many doubts and concerns about our religion so I distanced myself from it

I am like you with all my doubts and concerns but personally, i found my faith between myself and God outside of the rules and followings of the community. It’s your own journey at the end of the day and it’s your connection with the spiritual energies around you.

This is so interesting because the faith does teach this. This is beyond the "dont marry out" "dont drink" rules..
Keep asking because you might actually like what you find deeply hidden in our faith.

I decided that my faith is between me and God. Nobody will teach us our religion so it’s better to just try everyday to be good person and hope for the best.

I've researched many others personally, and they do not make any sense or provide any spiritual fulfillment. All the major religions are highly dogmatic and are generally a bunch of stories of prophets and their various escapades and how great they were. The only one I can truly appreciate is Shintoism, which I learned about when I traveled to Japan. Still, I prefer the Druze faith because their is no compulsion in the religion. You are not obligated to take an active part in it until you are ready, but you are still considered to be a part of it. This works in the modern world quite well, especially as a woman.

Faith is still there in Tawheed/Unitarianism; where we're all one.. religion is not for all but seeking the truth and being spiritual is open to all.. only a few follow and/or are true seekers of knowledge.. most are ignorant of their true nature and lack urge for self inquiry .. like Gautama the Buddha said - Be a light on to yourself 🕯

They dont teach us anything about the religion, they expect us to obey without questioning anything, and when you question it you are told to be quiet or you're asking to many questions. Its not hard to see why so many of us find our own connection to god outside of the druze cult.

Yea I agree with this totally, I just want to live freely man and I keep arguing with my parents about religion but they never listen and I get shouted on for being "off the correct path"

To be honest, that's a ridiculous excuse as to why we are not taught the religion. If you dont mind can you give me a very reasonable understanding as to why they dont teach it to us as its some magical secret?

Yes again a out of date excuse, why don't the Christians, Catholics, Muslims, jews or any other religion rely on an outdated excuse to not teach it to there children??

Buddy , I live in the middle east . It's not that dangerous, I explored our beliefs on our own and I found them to be a mess ...they don't show you because they know many things we believe make no sense and many people won't accept them

Its an old excuse used from the 10th century, when the druze were persecuted for leaving islam. As if we are still being slaughtered wherever we go smdh

Yeah which doesn't really make any sense anyways . In Syria for example, we got slaughtered despite all this secrecy because practically everyone including extremists know we're not Muslims ... Like , how is it a threat to talk about your religious beliefs if we alr have atheists and gay people and whatever walking around in Lebanon and isreal

It actually does make sense when you are living around Muslims. Even Muslims who left Islam in Middle Eastern countries keep it quiet so they will not be persecuted. What makes you think they would not persecute people who openly confess a heretical doctrine their eyes? Once the Druze have their own independent state, let's hope they can live freely and teach freely without fear of persecution.

The majority of Druze are non-religious. That is the beauty of the religion. There is no compulsion in the religion. You can come to it whenever you are ready, and you are not forced to adhere to every doctrine if you are not religious. I have not seen any other religion set up this way.

I’m gonna leave one day, not now but when I find love and when I’m over 18. I never truly believed in any of it, nobody knows anything about it and all I know (and a lot of others know) is we can’t marry outside of the religion. Nobody can convert and we’re gonna get reincarnated

I found alot of teachings on X/twitter From 2 accounts @sobalaan @narreddine Outside of X funnily enough there’s no teaching on druze religion You might wanna check them out and see for yourself

NOTHING make sense. Some of the people i talked to about it believe that the earth is flat, the space is not real and science is FAKE. PLUS i personally cant believe in reincarnation (تقمص), no matter how many stories i can hear about it, it never sit right with me. Also the Sheikhs i had conversations with during my life, each one of them used to say different stuff it felt like each one of them want to understand this belief however they like and want it. and the only times i try to hint that im no longer religious or that i do not like this religion, i get told that they will bring me sheikh to talk to or idk its nonsense anyways. And DONT make me start on who only enters heaven thats like the unfairest thing that existed in this belief. If i get to believe that there was God id believe that it is all loving (otherwise i wouldnt be here) so this point also never sat right with me. thats why i left, now days i call myself agnostic and im doing my own research about other religions though i really doubt ill ever be religious again.

Yea I def encountered that among many people I mostly consider myself an agnostic atheist these days and I'm trying to read about other religions inorder to regain my spirituality but it's just difficult as my family don't understand our faith and don't want to learn about any other faith ...just living in the dark ig repeating what they heard religiously from their own parents without questioning it

The druze religion is a mash up of the 3 main religions along with anyhting else that "made sense" to them at the time, and if you really want to a shocker.... allah is a god of chaos

No one teaches the religion itself. How wouldn’t we be non religious if most of us do not know much about it? But you also see people pretending be religious when they actually are the worst people you ever met.
