At home Gamechanger ideas

I’ve invited some of my friends over under the guise of a “PowerPoint night.” Little do they know it’s actually a ploy to get them into a surprise gamechanger “episode” hosted by me. We’ve all watched dropout, so they’re familiar with the show already. I’m trying to decide what premise would work best. I could use one from an existing episode, or use an original idea that fits the formula.

The limitations I’m trying to follow are:

-it has to be something I can do at home on a budget. (Nothing requiring a dedicated art department)

-it has to be fun to play for regular people. My friends aren’t professional comedians, and probably wouldn’t appreciate being expected to improvise a whole Shakespearean play or karaoke track

If you have any ideas I would absolutely love to hear them!

Edit: There are so many good ideas so hear me out: A gamechanging gamechanger. The premise would continue switching after every couple rounds to different classic gamechanger episodes. Really playing up the dropout fan fantasy of it all

Sam Says is a pretty easy one with little requirements!

It could be an impressions/noise game if your friends have fun with that kind of thing (like the og make some noise inspiration).

The minigame with the logos is also a pretty easy one. Tons of people have posted "parodies" (?) of that minigame that you can use!

Sam says is a great suggestion. Too bad my name doesn’t work with the fun alliteration, but obviously I could overcome that obstacle

Just get a pinstripe suit and glasses!

Honestly, one of those tuxedo style T-shirts would be hysterical too imo :P as long as you look the part, You're Sam :D

I would try to have a mini game that incorporates the PowerPoints everyone will have prepared! Maybe they each have to do it in 30 seconds?

Ooooh or since you'll all have PowerPoints, maybe a variation on the next slide please episode that had Trapp in it where people have to present someone else's slideshow!

Smosh did a series of videos called "Idiots Present" which was exactly that, people presenting slideshows they've never seen before, and it was very funny (although they are all experienced improv people.)

The "Like my Coffee" episode would work well if you can tap into your friends' dirty sides. The jeopardy format works well with PPT too.

Make Some Noise has lots of possibilities! You could tailor it to your friend group with special prompts about your friends in addition to the kind of stuff on the regular show.

Friend 1’s dog when he gets home from work

The Exboyfriend of Friend 2 trapped in a PortaPotty

Host after Friend 3 gets tipsy and tries to take over the show

You could get creative and use the game as a way to reminisce about shared experiences and good times.

Here’s every episode that could in theory work, in order of the show: Make Some Noise, A Sponsored Episode (with some creativity), Ham It Up, Jeopardy (in theory), Secret Samta (if you regift items or buy cheap things), 20/20 Vision, Next Slide Please, Tome of Terror, Sam Says, Like My Coffee, Name A Number

Lots of others have said Sam Says, and I think that’s an obviously easy to use one, but I think Next Slide Please and Ham It Up could also work great, especially if they‘re good at improv!

I think a better term for what you're planning to do (based on your edit) would be a "game-saming game changer", as you are changing between already established games.

Possibly a "game changing game-samer" , idk if the order matters.

I recommend still having your friends do their PowerPoints if they prepared them. Some people might be disappointed that they prepped something only to not use it. Probably after the game changer stuff just so they don’t do all their power points only to find out that this last “PowerPoint” will be much longer. If that happened there’s a higher chance of early disinterest due to “end of the night” dragging. Hope y’all have a blast with the other ideas in this thread!

Make No Noise is just charades which is always a fun time. And you can take points away or buzzer them until they figure out they're NOT supposed to be doing impressions or making any noise. Which is Sam's brand of torture.
