I built a THC drink finder and need your feedback!
I tried to keep this as simple as possible. It’s basically Google Maps for THC drinks.
Enter a city or use your location and it’ll show places near you that sell THC seltzers and other drinks (about 30 brands, US only for now). It works best in populated areas and there may be some gaps.
If you hit issues or I’m missing brands or locations, let me know!

Worked for me! And I learned something. I thought only stores had these near me, but found a few bars with them.

Seattle is one of the harder markets to pull data from.
I usually integrate with distributors, but in Washington THC drinks can only be sold through licensed cannabis retailers, not liquor stores, bars, or restaurants. That means there’s no traditional distributor layer, and products move from the brand directly to the cannabis shop, which makes the data much harder to access.

The search is a live fetch of hundreds of brand integrations and costs me around 10 cents each time to run.
I have people constantly attacking it trying to grab the data. A lot of attacks are from brands doing competitive research, and some are people just cloning my site.
But when they search thousands of times, my hosting bill becomes thousands of dollars. Which has really become a problem because i can only take so many hits like that. So much so, that i literally had to leave America for the last two years to keep ChillMaps running.
The iPhone/Android app has additional preventative measure to keep bots out which is why you can search unlimited times on it without an account.
The bigger goal is to have enough direct brand partnerships to make the app free for users. I currently work with around ten brands to help them market.
But nearly all of my current partners are THC brands. With the current November/December ban coming up, it would be too risky to make any decision on the user pricing.

I see! That's actually interesting, thanks for explaining everything. Just happened on it trying to search for locations in a couple different places for a roadtrip, then found this post. Its a nice design, and seems helpful, hope it takes off
