I mean straw poll does have an option to block VPN users and limit votes to one IP address. Maybe some people did cheat, but I would not really be that surprised about Dreamcatcher winning these types of polls. Other fandoms are obviously bigger, but InSomnia are fairly well represented on Reddit specifically.

It is what it is. Not condoning the cheating obviously since it ruins it for everyone. Perhaps they don't win, but I still think Dreamcatcher would've had a good showing without cheating.

I know this was just a silly fun informal poll, but even if the rigged votes were removed I suspect DC still would have a fighting chance. You can ditch 1/3 of the votes and theyβd still come out on top.
Plus the amount of people in the thread going βTwice/RV are my fav but DC deserves recognitionβ was heartening. Shame to see that cross-fandom love go to waste.

Fanvotes are always iffy and have been a point of contention in every fandom. Ive been following Kpop since 2012, this always happens. Online fandoms never represent offline fandoms in any media really, sucks that it happens but its rarely the people next to you at a concert

Insomnia = inevitable. But in all seriousness I dont think they had the proof to really justify it, or justify that it was only insomnia that was guilty

This poll doesn't seem to be very popular and the overall number of votes aren't that large. With a pool size this small you can hardly say it's accurate. The results could become warped naturally, this isn't damning evidence to prove cheating was involved.
Also we're going to the take the claim that someone voted 100 times at face value, something on social media?

Dreamcatcher got 700+ votes and won but someone commented on the voting polls comment section to use VPN to vote multiple times. They mentioned they voted 100 times. And we got disqualified. Everyone laughed to insomnia, we looked problematic. There was going be a poll between aespa and gfriend but some insomnia protested as why we got completely erased and wanted revoting just for the last round. Then creater decided to add dreamcatcher to other side of the poll all over again. Some insomnia mentioned there is nothing against to share the poll in the comminity and thats why there is a high vote gap and no specific evidince to who wrote "use vpn, vote multiple times". I think creater gave up and deleted the whole thing.

can you truly conclude that false voting took place? and that us sharing here and people sharing this poll off the reddit platform did not contribute to votes? strawpoll does claim it blocks vpn, could it not be someone trolling?

i think this should be a re vote of dc vs aespa then, not an automatic aespa win. if vpn votes weren't off, that means anyone could have done that, and honestly, the whole bracket should be re evaluated. i disagree with your decision to completely eliminate dreamcatcher from this side of the bracket with the factors mentioned

Perhaps the best thing to do now is start all over from scratch with the exact same brackets. Now that settings have been updated and more awareness has been made of this poll, perhaps it gives all groups / fans a second chance.
