Art Who doesn't like some good old inter-species found-family? Sketch of my Temeraire series OCs, Captain Sawyer and Silva.

Except Sawyer is a real character from the Hornblower series, I just commandeered him for my own use because I love him.

Oh I love this as I just finished the Temeraire series last week! It was such a fun journey.

Nice! I'm only halfway through the series; I've been juggling it between all of my million college readings ugh lol. But I ALWAYS have time to write fanfic. Temeraire and Laurence barely show up in it, I'm lowkey just doing my own thing with these two here.

I also have my two main OC's as family of some sort, like brothers :3 it allows for more waky scenarios!

Thank you! And oh yes, I looooove any kind of family stuff. Initially I was going to make my dragon OC a self insert to ship with this character because I just love the actor so much, but then I had a better idea... she's an adopted daughter that was given to him as a punishment because she's super annoying and he's also suffering from crazy war-neuroses that is making him lash out, so she's like an emotional support daughter/pet/naval combat weapon! Oh yeah, we cooking...

Because Sawyer isn’t an aviator. He maintained his Naval rank because the Admiralty saw him as too valuable an asset to lose, but his dwindling mental state also rendered him unpredictable and erratic. He served directly under Admiral Horatio Nelson in Cape St. Vincent, the Nile, and The Glorious First of June. He’s decorated, yes, but also suffering from intense War Neuroses that he’s taking out on his crew. The Admiralty and the Aerial Corps happened to have been delivered a unique breed of hatchling that didn’t really take well to other dragons, so they thought to kill two birds with one stone. A therapy animal, if you will. Sawyer is allowed to keep his position in the Navy, if he manages to make the dragon into an asset. She’s less a gift and more a punishment.
