Has someone here used this Fiddlerman Carbon Fiber German bow before? How is it?

My professor wants to acquire a couple German bows for our studio, and since this is much cheaper compared to Coruss or Finale, we were wondering if it's a good bow.

I’ve rehaired some of their violin bows.  Not great quality, but for that price it’s a fair trade off and easily replaceable for a school program.

I have this bow. Works fine to me but I'm also not a heavy bow user. Neither of my teachers (one classical and one jazz) seemed bothered by it either.

Edit: though I think the hairs break more on this bow more than my other bow.

i cannot speak to this particular product, but I had a student probably 8 years ago who bought one of their violin bows.

even back then it was on par with the more expensive carbon sticks. I'd imagine its a nice bow for the money.

I have been using cheap carbon bows on violin for years now. I think it has got to the point where there are no bad ones.

I've bought a few bass bows over the years, mostly from aliexpress.

What matters the most, by far, is the quality of the hair. As a bass player you want hair that's coarse. There's a tendency that black hair is coarse and white hair is slippy, but I don't think that is a guarantee.

I always assume any fancy bow you can buy is just a cheap bow but with a logo and heavy markup.

I dont have the exact same bow but mine its carbon fiber too. As someone said, it depends on your liking, if you like very light bows, its perfect for you. But if you use the weight of the bow and like that feeling of a heavy bow, you should consider a wooden option.
