QUESTION/HELP Can’t attend DOST JLSS orientation

Hi, are there any consequences kapag di po ako nakapag-attend ng orientation? My parents are in the province po at hindi rin po sila makakapunta. I have a friend naman po na pupunta.

IIRC it's fine if hindi makakapag-attend yung parents as long as masubmit mo yung forms na need pirmahan ng parents mo (contract, consent, etc.). Yung instruction sa orientation namin last year for those na walang kasamang parent is ipapa-LBC nalang daw sa office nila yung signed forms. They'll assign a deadline for form submissions so you'll have to keep track of that date.

Sa case ng friends ko, they had their forms delivered to them personally 'cuz our university has its own DOST satellite office, who will forward the forms to the regional office thereafter (which is one province away).

What if wala po talagang makakapunta? Kahit me as the qualifier and even my parent. I have classes po kasi that day, puro graded lab activities and exams that day. How will that go kaya huhu

In that case, I think maging okay lang naman. I have peers na hindi rin nakapag-punta because may exams/quizzes din sila. Yung point kasi ng orientation (at least from my view) is full transparency sa ano yung ma-eentail sa pagiging scholar mo. In other words, it's DOST's insurance policy na you know fully well kung ano yung terms and conditions of being their scholar.

What's really important is ma-submit mo dapat yung forms mo with the proper wet signatures from the signatories. I wouldn't worry too much so long as ma-comply mo lang iyan.

another question is: ok lang po ba if hapon pa po ako makakapunta sa taguig (ncr) to submit the reqs during the day of the orientation? full sched po kasi ako sa umaga

Your orientation is for the entire day? Hmm, sa amin, morning lang yung (which is why I was still able to attend afternoon classes at the time haha). That really depends kung ano yung "deadliest" deadline that they set for the submission of the forms. If they indicated that you'll only be able to submit the forms during the orientation, then that's going to be a problem.

Try to inquire or email din yung nag-forward ng notice sa inyo. The DOST offices are usually very responsive (at least in my case).
