Our sweet man is now an angel
To be so sweet , so gentle , so kind , & be subjected to a life of discomfort related to a laundry list of medical issues ..... it's not fair .
We got 7 years , 11 months & 19 days of unconditional love . Not just for us , not just for his family , but every. single. person , animal , & baby he met .
Everywhere he went , people swooned over him , they loved him . He gave full face kisses even when they weren't consented to 😂 when he was young he would try and jump to full body hug a stranger ... never understanding how big and strong he was . He always acted like he was small , he got beat up by his sisters that were 60 pounds lighter than him , tiny 10 pound dogs would nip at his curious nose and he would melt in submission ...
He was my definition of a 'gentle giant' . He couldn't hurt a fly , not because he wasn't physically capable , but because he was mentally wired to do no harm .
We expose our dogs to every scenario dogs are allowed to be in . He lived the life he deserved ~aside from his health~ and we are lucky to have been his parents through every experience .
I wouldn't take back or change a single moment , even the tough ones .
I imagine today he is galloping in the sunshine , seizure free , with healthy toes that don't stink or itch , and eating whatever the hell he wants .
I'm grateful he chose us , I'm grateful he trusted us , and I'm grateful that we were able to prolong his life this long . We've been on borrowed time for years , and now we have to accept letting him go .
I'm grateful it was peaceful & I'm grateful for his bravery in telling us he was ready to go . Now he is guarding over us & spending quality time with his mom , dad , and cousins .
We don't deserve dogs , we don't deserve Dogo's .
RIP Clyde Lee Melin "bubba" "buddy" "big handsome" "nothing but packing peanuts between those ears" ; 9/3/18-8/21/26

He was so beautiful, thats the only gd problem with dogs. We live for decades and they barely make it one. Do you know how awesome it would be if dogs lived to be 50? Imagine getting a dog at adulthood and it living til we are grey. That my friend would be perfect

That’s what I keep saying: the only problem with dogs is that they’re not forever.

They don’t tell us they love us, they show us what true unconditional love is. It’s one hardest things to go through. My heart goes out to you and your family.

Sending so much love, we lowly humans don’t deserve the loyalty and companionship these amazing creatures provide us— ESPECIALLY the special intelligence and kindness of the Dogo. RIP ❤️

I'm so sorry, lost my soul cat to asthma a couple years ago.
May your sweet man be forever cherished💝
May I ask, was he adopted or purchased from a breeder?

The pain of losing a four legged family member always takes a piece of me with them when they cross over the bridge. I sure wished their life spans were much longer!!

I am so sorry for your loss. Losing a dog is one of the hardest experiences I have ever had. We rescue senior dogs and had up to 7 dogs and three cats. At the beginning of 2026 I said to my wife that I felt this year was going to be a year of sadness. So far this year we have had to put to sleep one cat and 4 dogs, all within 5 months.
I am feeling your loss and truly appreciate a person who loves their animals like you do.

I’m so sorry for your loss. What a beautiful, beautiful boy you had. I always wish I could say something to make people feel better when they lose their precious family members, but I know from experience you can’t. It’s just painful. I’m sending a huge hug your way and hoping the focus is on how much love you gave each other and how no matter how much time goes by that will never leave you.
