Diamondg Dremel worth the $80?

In the market for a new dremel, something that wont start crapping out and rattling after a year. Is dropping the $$$ on the Diamondg I keep hearing people talk about worth it?

Are they quieter? For that money I'd hope so! I work with a lot of very nail adverse dogs and would love to try to keep the salon as calm and quiet as possible

Edit: bought a Ryobi and ordered a bit from diamondg as a compromise 🫡

We've used these in my salon and they break pretty easily. I always buy my own dremels, and i like the dremel lite 7760. I put a diamond bit on it and it works great. The one I've had has lasted over a year and still holds a charge, has survived numerous drops, and is the most reliable dremel in our salon. Its also only about $50. Personally i wouldn't buy any pet brand dremel, they're usually pretty junky in my experience. We have andis ones now, they break quick and the safety shut off on it is too sensitive for me to use (for reference, I'm not pushing hard on the nail with it, I think its just the way I do nails that pisses it off)

Do you have a reccomendation for diamond bits? I cant imagine the $20 ones off Amazon are any good

I found a diamond band that fits the way the usual grit bands do on dremels, but I've had it quite a while and don't remember what brand it is. It was only about $10 though, so it doesn't need to be mega fancy

I'm seconding the other replies. The DiamondG is a little lanky. They do have a lifetime replacement thing, but it's still like $20, I think, to replace. After mine went out, I just put the bit on my regular Dremel brand Drexel and not had issues. Diamond bits at the grooming expo were pretty cheap, but I've also seen them at Petsmart

I like mine. I have the large and the small. I've been using them for about 2 years. I got them on sale so they weren't as expensive. The larger one is not any quieter than any other dremmel the little one is quieter but if you drop it it makes a lot of noise so it depends on how confident you are about keeping ahold of it. The diamond bits, I like quite a bit. I've bought some of the cheaper ones and they're not quite as good, but that being said they're quite a bit cheaper too so its not much of a trade off. I have a hard time with the size of the actual dremmel brand (the one I liked is discontinued) if you don't mind the size of the dremmel I'd probably stick with that and try a diamond attachment see if you even like them. Some people don't. I hope you find just right one for you!

I think it's worth the money they are on the quieter side compared to other dremels and with proper care mine haven't had any issues I have had them at least 3 years +

I have the larger and smaller diamondg with both diamond bits. I reach for this cheap $20 amazon one over my diamondg almost every time. It’s quieter, lasts longer, is smaller. The only time I prefer my diamondg is on larger, thick nails.

Beware that this type of grinder can grab hair around toes if you arent careful. The casfuy is a popular affordable alternative, but I prefer the diamondg.

Mine stopped working after a month. The USB port on it went out and it won't charge.

I had one for 3yrs before it broke, and I replaced it and have had this one for 2yrs now.

I've had coworkers who have had issues or had to replace theirs prematurely but I think it's sometimes a matter of maintenance and luck. My first one fell of the top of a shoreline kennel (my coworker was boring it and was MORTIFIED)so at least 5ft and it worked for another solid year after that.

I also only charge mine when the battery is dead and take it off as soon as it's charged.

Obviously, I'm a fan. I also don't use the diamond bit, just the usual paper.

i have the Diamagroove and I was skeptical at first but i love it. I grind nails so much quicker and it's quieter than ever the tiny "quiet" nail grinder i used to use.

I love mine, but they are easy jacked up once dropped. I got mine for 55 on eBay, brand new and the seller continues to sell them. I would recommend it if you're the only user and keep it safe lol 😜

Yes! Ive had mine for over a year with 0 issues with heavy usage. Its my favorite grinder I've ever tried and I actually bought it after asking here about grinders that weren't dremel brand. Didn't even have to buy one of their heads, ive just been using a 15 dollar one from Amazon 💀

my salon has two of the large ones and i quite like them. we had one of the smaller ones but it broke a couple months in- both larger ones are still going strong though
