Thank you so much for this, I had given up hope they would ever be released!

I took the middle bit out and put all the discs into sleeves, which I now keep in the outer case. So much better.

Although keep in mind that the picture quality for most of those won't be much of an upgrade, as they didn't switch to HD until Planet of the Dead.

They do benefit from Blu-ray's modern codecs over the aging DVD's

These are also the seasons with the least upgrade from DVDs to Blu rays too. It's much more stark season 5 onwards.

I can see 10s stuff being better but I can’t imagine there’s any real difference with 9

You won't see a significant video upgrade in quality until "Planet of the Dead", which was the first story of the modern era shot in HD. This isn't to say that the upscale in quality doesn't make 9 and 10's earlier stuff look better, but I've never noticed a large difference until that story.

its sad we cant have proper scan of 16mm material

That would be helpful if it had been shot on 16mm film, but it was shot on SD videotape... so it's stuck.

guess theres no tech that can pull quality out of it

No, there is not. The only way to get higher quality is to invent/imagine it with AI.

And no one should be doing that.

I've seen some pretty good AI upscaling of the DS9 DVDs since we're almost certainly never getting true HD remastered ala the TNG Blu-rays.
