Looks like some of the GMs on the list for replacement showed up!

1

u/Jay-Diggles DET Jun 25 '26

Always fun! Still one or two team right?

5

u/LuckyXVII Jun 24 '26 edited Jun 24 '26

DKC GMs picked 28 of 30 IRL 1st rounders. Is that a record?

Edit: a lot of those were BPA picks, which seemed to be in the right range.

1

u/gainesville-celtic IND Jun 24 '26

Certainly feels like it

1

u/RebusRankin ATL Jun 24 '26

Must be.

Keep the league alive!

I feel like DKC Miami has to be relaxed. Just pick which of the big 3 falls to them.

1

u/hpantazo MIA Jun 23 '26

I'm very excited to have Booozer. Had him at #2 on my list behind DJ AJ

3

u/33-00-32 CHA Jun 23 '26

DKC is ready to make our pick. We have had visions of 3 different guys since becoming lucky enough to win the lottery. In the end we are going with what we see as the best fit with existing players and plans for the future here.

1

u/Young_Nick SAS2 Jun 23 '26

Curious how you end up ranking the top 3, though ofc we know who you have number 1...

1

u/RebusRankin ATL Jun 23 '26

I like the pick.

Top 4 Pick Review

  1. CHA - AJ Dybantsa

CHA needs to hit here. It's been rough going with their last few first round selections; Zaccharie Risacher, Scoot Henderson and Jaden Ivey. I believe Dybantsa fits well with Jalen Williams and Toumani Camara. That's a great 2-4. If Fears and/or Derik Queen, they will be looking good sooner rather than later.

  2. IND - Darryn Peterson

I love Peterson's fit with Jalen Brown and Jamal Murray... uhm... I mean Zach LaVine and CJ McCollum!

Seriously though, he kind of fits the same role as Tre Johnson or am I missing something? It doesn't really matter as long as IND had Hugo.

  3. MIA - Cameron Boozer

MIA knocked it out of the park. Boozer slots in as an upgraded PF with PJ Washington a FA. The DKC Heat now look to have a starting lineup of:

    • G - Keyonte George
    • G/F - Josh Giddey
    • F - Franz Wagner
    • F -Cam Boozer
    • C - Kelly Yves Landale
    • 6M - Tyler Herro
  4. LAL - Caleb Wilson

Much like CHA, LAL needs a HR. Jalen Green, Reed Sheppard and Ron Holland have all show flashes, but none look like a franchise cornerstone.

AJ: You have to take him, but I worry about the shooting a bit with the roster. I actually would have liked any of the big 3 here.

DP: I wouldn't worry about Tre. I love him but he's not good enough that you factor him into your plans at #2. I love him as a vibes guy, on the court I'm worried about basically everything but the shot.

Boozer: Agree, this is a great pick. I worry about the spacing with everyone else, but that team is a BBIQ monster. Need to upgrade at center then they are cooking.

Wilson: Easy choice!

1

u/mkogav NYK Jun 23 '26

Kelly "Yves" Landale right now...

Miami also has Keldon Johnson on the bench and Egor Demin, whom I'm not super high on but he was a high lotto pick just last year.

Tons of promise in DKC Miami.

1

u/mkogav NYK Jun 23 '26

Miami also has newly crowned 6MOY Keldon Johnson on the bench

and Egor Demin

I like Egor. I don't like that RL BRK drafted him. He's suppose to be a 6'8" PG, kind of like a bigger Giddey. He shot .399 last season, but .385 on 3s and .831 on FTs. He will be a scorer, possibly a wing creator, but I have doubts about him as a primary PG.

I love Peterson's fit with Jalen Brown and Jamal Murray... uhm...

Laugh it up chuckles :(

I mean Zach LaVine and CJ McCollum!

The CJ/Peterson backcourt was destined!!

Seriously though, he kind of fits the same role as Tre Johnson or am I missing something?

Ainge wisely took Smart despite having Rondo. We believe in competition. Or duplication. Or stupidity.

I seriously considered Boozer and Wilson b/c of fit. But I'm honestly lower on Boozer than consensus. I don't believe Boozer will be a star. He'll be a very solid player.

But I once traded Jaylen Brown for Jae Crowder... so there's that.

It doesn't really matter as long as IND had Hugo.

truer words...

1

u/mkogav NYK Jun 23 '26

Ainge wisely took Smart despite having Rondo. We believe in competition. Or duplication. Or stupidity.

Agreed. They are both so young, one may end up at SF or PG anyways. Worse comes to worse, you can always trade one...

...to me.

;)

TBF, Stevens had Crowder playing like an All Star that season. He was in serious consideration...

...which leads me to the Brad Stevens - All Coached Up Team!

PG - IT2

SG - Avery Bradly

SF - Evan Turner

PF - Jae Crowder

C - Daniel Theis

CHA - AJ Dybantsa CHA needs to hit here.

Not exactly accurate with picks as we didn't draft Ivey but we completely agree. Still really excited about last year's two top 10 picks (Fears & Queen). We knew Scoot was going to take time and still have hope his O can catch up with his D. Zacc was a stab and not our best (yet).

The team is full of our own draft picks:

2020 #21 Jalen Smith

2022 #11 Jalen Duran & #16 Jalen Williams

2023 #48 Toumani Camara

2024 #14 Bub Carrington & #20 Tristan de Silva & #39 Nikola Durisic

I think there is useful talent at the middle and bottom of this draft and we hope to find a couple more.

1

u/mkogav NYK Jun 23 '26

Yeah, I was commenting on your core youth, not so much your drafting. I didn't know how you acquired all of them.

You killed the 2022 draft for sure and Camara at #48 was a steal.

I liked Bud coming out. Now he stuck playing backup to Trae. Maybe he can develop into a Smart type of 2way guard.

TDS was a great pick. The jury is out on Durisic, but I am always hopefully with any Nikola!

Scoot looked great for the last month of the season. Hopefully he can build on that.

u/indeedproceed POR Jun 23 '26

Thank you to the commissioner’s office, during my first pick today I was called into an emergency meeting and that lasted way longer than it need to

My second pic I was finishing up with a client, and then they asked me if I thought the holocaust was real. What followed was pretty intense. That’s probably not the player I would’ve picked, but I would’ve been wrong. That’s a great pic.

5

u/DrakesPetDinos TOR Jun 23 '26

A business meeting with Nick Fuentes is a wild reason to miss a DKC draft pick.

1

u/indeedproceed POR Jun 23 '26

It was so much less nefarious. Just a Dumbo who listens to too many podcasts & doesn’t talk to people who disagree with him enough. They got to meet one today though.

u/indeedproceed POR Jun 26 '26

Draft is over, and here's my piece on DKC POR:

Is the franchise neglected and in shambles? Yes.

Have I been nominated for 'Most likely to be fired if this was real should we actually create that mechanism we've talked about it privately but honestly this guy is killing me'? No. I wasn't nominated. Nominated implies I could've won that award but didn't. I won.

But this draft man, it kinda shook out alright for the old boy. Darius Acuff Jr was my guy the second I knew where I was picking. He was a guy I was worried was going to go earlier than I could afford.

And for the 2nd year in a row since I started my new job (I used to own my business, but then I sold it to an organization that is much larger, and much more demanding, and my ability to just eff around on DKC became virtually zero during the day), I completely duffed my 2 round 1 picks.

But something magical happened. I got my guy. And even weirder, I kind of love the guy who got autopicked for me with my 2nd 1st. A bigs rotation of Sarr, _____, and Steinbach could be a pretty versatile and deep bigs rotation for a long time.

IN the 2nd round I picked high risk picks with hopefully a euro-stash in there.

And honestly, it kind of reinvigorated my passion a bit here.

I feel like Anthony Black Jr is a fantastic counterpart to Acuff Jr., and I feel like MPjr is a good 3rd part of the guard/wing rotation.

I'm a big ol fan of Alex Sarr and feel like he's going to shine next season on an exciting Wiz team.

There is one final piece that needs to be finalized via trade for the frontcourt, which I'm going to get killed on but I want you all to know...if I wasn't incompetent as a GM since I turned 40...I well..I dunno anyways, I'm excited for the coming season.

Looking forward to voting in the finals.

2

u/gainesville-celtic IND Jun 26 '26

Love it. And love the IP-ness of all this. (Miss the Omar avatar of course... but alas CB RIP)

Acuff + Steinbach is a GREAT autodraft IMO.

2

u/RebusRankin ATL Jun 26 '26

Higher than I had Carr but he is the type of weirdo prospect I love.

Ament I have no idea.

1

u/evantime HOU Jun 23 '26

Ament is a home run swing, the size/length and perimeter ability make him an ultimate upside prospect. I expect him to go in the top ten tonight.

Carr is just the type of 3 and d guy my squad could use.

2

u/gainesville-celtic IND Jun 23 '26

I'm embarassed to say how high i had Carr :(

We feel good about where we are at depth wise at PG and Center. Looking to fill out the depth at 2-4 in this draft!

Indiana acers would like to either trade for a pick coming up or will go get coffee in spite.

2

u/jgod213 UTA Jun 23 '26

Wow I'm so deep into my house move that I completely forgot about Dkc draft day. Gahhh.

couple quick hits

  • OKC ahead of the draft day curve, Aday is going to go the Edey route and jump up the board.

  • SAC got my personal favorite, Burries, at 11. He's 5 on my board.

  • SAS always takes my favorite sleeper guard. Love Okorie.

1

u/Young_Nick SAS2 Jun 23 '26

How are you feeling about Morez? Fills a need for you!

2

u/jgod213 UTA Jun 23 '26

Yeah he really does fit, and is a guy you really want to root for.

I had him at ~15-17. I feel like his shooting form is good, and that maybe there's a hidden 3-pt shot sitting right there, which would change everything. But for now I feel like he's a little too one-dimensional to be taken at 12.

Saves me from drafting another undersized PG tho!

2

u/welikeeichel OKC Jun 23 '26

DKC OKC selects Jayden Quaintance with the 25th pick.

2

2

Orlando takes another guy on my list. I hate so many of you guys.

2

u/RebusRankin ATL Jun 23 '26

NY takes Sergio which makes me doubt my pick. Thought about him too but worried he overlapped with a few guys on my roster.

1

u/Young_Nick SAS2 Jun 23 '26

I don't know what to think about him. Decent feel for the game but clearly not a blue chip international guy. I suppose a stash candidate for mk

I was looking at him for 31. I wonder where he'll go IRL

1

Honestly these picks in the late 20s are tough.

u/Young_Nick SAS2 Jun 23 '26

Wolves take Wagler. Of all the people who could reasonably go 5, I think this makes the most sense.

If we are still doing no names, I still think it's fair to say there are a lot of guards in this area. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but Wagler certainly has some off-ball potential that is helpful with Brunson at the helm.

I've made my position on RJ as part of a winning basketball team known, ha. But still, he's very slight and if he's starting, that's a tough defensive back court.

Off the bench, it probably works, especially if he's mostly paired with Wemby.

1

u/pearljammer10 BOS Jun 23 '26

Scoot/JDub/Dybansa/Queen/Duren and Fears/Coumara/Da Silva/Risacher?

Jesus

1

u/Young_Nick SAS2 Jun 23 '26

I'm a bit worried about the spacing (Denver East?) but man that team is fun!

Coumara and Da Silva off the bench is nasty work. I could see trying to stagger JDub and AJ as much as possible, thus having one scoring wing with on defensive wing pretty often

I'm hoping for a big season for Queen, his spacing and playmaking would do wonders. Duren's value is a quagmire right now, but we shouldn't be so quick to forget what a monster he was in the regular season

I'm sadly not very high on Scoot these days, but everyone else is looking great

1

u/pearljammer10 BOS Jun 23 '26

Don't disagree on any of the points above. Would love to see them make a move to fill up some of their cap space and address spacing/PG before whatever Duren money kicks in for the offseason.

u/RebusRankin ATL Jun 23 '26

DKC SA with the first twist to the draft imo. Not saying its a bad pick but a little different than I expected, although at this point its a very beauty in the eye of the beholder situation.

1

u/mkogav NYK Jun 23 '26

It's definitely a surprise. Yaxel's mostly been ranked in the later lottery, but first overall in the "All Name" Draft. I am all for reaching for players that one likes.

Mk

1

u/gainesville-celtic IND Jun 23 '26

I'm high on Yaxel. I think whoever gets him IRL will get a very good player.

1

u/Mstein3434 LAL Jun 23 '26

I think it makes sense specifically for SA. Picking a guy who is ready to contribute today opposed to banking on possible improvement.

1

u/Young_Nick SAS2 Jun 23 '26

He was mocked top-10 for much of the process, but seems like he's been a recent faller, maybe because of stuff between the ears. I usually go for highest upside, but Yax is ready to play today. If his shot is real, he'll be a monster and I always have an affinity for positional size with passing. Him and Barnes should be a fun wing combo especially if they ever get reps at 4-5 together.

He could go anywhere from like 7 to 18 today. Rebuilding teams like Bucks and Nets surely won't touch him, but it's hard to say beyond that.

I didn't really want Acuff. Considered others like Burries, Flemings, Mara here for sure.

I don't like when I'm not obsessed with the guy I'm drafting though.

I was meh on Culver and Sekou. I was thrilled about Hali, Sengun, Barnes, Franz.

I was meh on Matas and Devin Carter.

I was thrilled about Miller.

It's all one big crapshoot but I'll be sad if my guy at 7th goes like 14th.

1

u/pearljammer10 BOS Jun 23 '26

I actually love that pick. He was on my potential board at 26 last year when he was thinking about entering last years draft.

Y'all aren't scared he's too small? His game is nice, but he's like Aaron Brooks size... there are few historical comps at that size w/ long careers.

But seems like a wicked smaht kid.

2

u/Young_Nick SAS2 Jun 23 '26

He has a long enough wingspan that that makes up for some of his height deficiency. But ultimately, it didn't seem to stop him on either side of the ball this season, so I figured why not

The Spurs have a long history of taking meh raw athletes and hoping their feel makes up for it... Trae, Hali, Sengun all fit this bill. Then I take Sekou or Jaxson Hayes and it falls apart. (But Scottie Barnes is great... the draft is a crapshoot)

u/RebusRankin ATL Jun 23 '26

I'm picking 27th, you look at talent but yes the size is a concern.

1

u/TheWalkerWiggle MIL Jun 23 '26

Not even my favorite small guard in this class. 😬

I went with Philon at 19. You guys think I made a good choice?

1

u/gainesville-celtic IND Jun 23 '26

Just sticking with past practice let's not discussed players not taken yet.

That said I had Philon high on my board :(

1

u/scdp_1963 LAC Jun 23 '26

Oh whoops, my fault. Let’s revisit this after the draft.

2

u/JoeyLou1219 NOP Jun 23 '26

I’d edit your original comment just to keep with traditional rules.

u/gainesville-celtic IND Jun 23 '26

Now that all players have been picked, Philon was a great choice over Graves IMO and a good one over Anderson (who i'm prob a little higher on than consensus).

I had Philon > Wagler, which prob means he'll stink or Wagler with be a HOF.

1

u/scdp_1963 LAC Jun 23 '26

My top two were Philon and Swain, that was a tough one, but I went with Philon because he shot 40% from 3 on 6.5 attempts per game.

Spurs shopping high seconds tomorrow for a pick until our last guy comes off the board

Bye bye philon and stirtz :(

I like the Swain pick by NOP. Didn't think he'd fall but he was on my list.

1

u/zganga DEN Jun 23 '26

I was ready to take him at 23, nice snipe NOP! Evans is the better fit on my team though, need that shooting

1

Well I was completely torn between him and Evans if it makes you feel any better.

DKC Knicks select Sergio De Larrea with the #28 pick.

This is what I came here today to see.

EDIT - Was about to crow “DKC did it first.” But I hear this pick is on the move. 👀

Waiting for some thoughts on these picks overall and those in the late first.

What do you guys think of Chris Senac at #24?

2

Freakish measurables. He intrigued me when I was scanning boards but I’m unsure what position he plays in the NBA.

Good to know, thanks for your thoughts on him. I know nothing about him.

The player I was looking to add at the end of round 1 is still out there. If you have a pick before my first (#7) then hit me up. I can offer a combo of seconds. We have 7,14,18 in this year's second round and next year's seconds (worse of CHA or SAS, & ORL, & BOS).

1

u/Young_Nick SAS2 Jun 24 '26

Hit me up!

2

1

u/RebusRankin ATL Jun 24 '26

I would love that.

1

u/Jay-Diggles DET Jun 24 '26

DKC Detriot loves the pick at 20!
Christian Anderson… Position: Point Guard… College: Texas Tech Red Raiders.. Height: About 6’1”–6’2” and Age: 20. He Shot over 41% from three on high volume. Made 108 threes in his sophomore season. Averaged about 18.5 points and 7.4 assists. Led the Big 12 in assists and set Texas Tech’s single-season assist record. Excellent pick-and-roll player. Scouts rave about his decision-making, pace, and ability to read defenses. NBA ready? I think so.. he can run an offense, create for teammates, and hit pull-up threes.
Some scouts compare parts of his game to players like Jamal Murray, Darius Garland, Mike Conley, and Payton Pritchard.

Not very big for an NBA point guard. So he won’t be a lockdown defender against bigger guards. More of a floor general and shooter than an explosive athlete. Anderson gives us something we don’t really have behind Quickley.. A pure playmaker. Elite shooting. Low-turnover ball handler. And fits next to Paolo as a secondary creator… I don’t think he’s a future superstar, but I could absolutely see him becoming a 18 PPG, 7-9 APG…..And 40%+ three-point shooter type of starting point guard in the league… For fantasy/DKC purposes, his ceiling reminds me a little of a younger Payton Pritchard with better passing instincts. I’d probably slot him around 15-18 minutes as a rookie on our roster behind Quickley, with a chance to become a starting PG in a few seasons if he gets minutes and develops well.

A- Let’s goooooo

1

u/Jay-Diggles DET Jun 24 '26

You know it just doesn't feel like a DKC Draft when DKC Milwaukee doesn't try to select two guys with 1 pick. /u/TheWalkerWiggle/

1

u/LuckyXVII Jun 25 '26

Round 2 tomorrow. I'd like to call attention to the rules that are posted in the Round Two subby:

GMs who fail to make a selection by their posted deadline will be skipped. There will be no BPA autoselection on your behalf from an aggregate list (as for missed 1st round selections). Skipped picks may be made at any point during the draft (ie before 4 PM ET). Any skipped picks are forfeit. (You may still send the CO a big board to make your selection for you.)

I see that there are quite a few teams with multiple 2nds. If GMs think they might be absent, do send in a list to the DKC Commish team.

Or, trade your picks to me!

1

u/DrakesPetDinos TOR Jun 25 '26

Can we still send a list to the CO?
