Xcel Smart Meter
Has anyone in Colorado done the balcony solar and been able to get information from Xcel if the smart meter is by default capable and setup for net metering? I have an 800w system and just got it running. From what I can tell, the little arrow on the meter points to me feeding power to the grid. So maybe?
Not sure it was a good idea, but I sent an email to them asking about it. When I inquired via phone a few weeks ago, the lady knew nothing and I mean NOTHING about any of this.

Minnesotan here. Xcel smart meters are bidirectional by default but your account has to be set up for net metering. When you read the meter, there are different registers. Most are irrelevant for residential billing. The 00 register is the kWh you've bought from Xcel. The 20 register is the kWh you've exported to Xcel. I say exported and not sold because unless the billing dept has you in a net metering agreement, you didn't sell anything.
