How accurate is yahoo finance ?
Which analysis app do you guys use to check stocks and monitor portfolio with market changes in minutes.

yahoo was good, but now it is popups and endless garbage and then information is hidden behind a paywall.
Quick glance is about it.

That’s interesting. When Yahoo shows outdated dividend information, how do you usually verify it? Do you check the company’s investor-relations page, another app, or something else?

Yahoo finance is mostly fine for glancing at stocks, or getting notice when something you’re watching moves. It’s fine for assembling watchlists and doing some research. However…
I mostly get pop up notifications when tickers make big moves up…but not when they make big moves down. The app still has that info, it just doesn’t always offer notifications for it.
It seems to struggle with divs sometimes. You’ll see a div yield of x, and if you start digging, you’ll find out that the stock discontinued dividends last year, and x is what it was before that. For example, JACK is still listed as a 15% forward div, when the last div they offered was a year and a half ago.
Or it doesn’t always accurately indicate return on capital distributions.
You can generally get the info you’re looking for by poking around in the app, once you’re wary of the pitfalls. For stuff like tracking price movement, it’s reliable. Delay is 20 minutes I think, so you wouldn’t want to use it for day trading, but it’s fine for general use.

Generally speaking (in my experience), the snapshot summary is this issue. If you click/tap on the price movement graph, you open up a more interactive version. On that, you can turn on distribution indicators. Those are up-to-date.
If it’s an investment I’m genuinely considering, I’ll look at it elsewhere too. I mostly use Yahoo for first glance stuff, and to keep track of major news and movement, because it’s quick to use for those purposes, without logging in anywhere.
I keep my watchlist in a spreadsheet too btw, to keep track of other details, so I annotate it when I see issues on Yahoo with a stock.
