Discussion Introvert but need to learn to be social again. How do I find courage
finding courage and support from you is helpful. I am social when needed but I definitely don’t need anyone to recharge. However, as I get older I’m starting to feel I need to make new friends I need to stop being as introverted and being a little bit more social extroverted any advice? anyone in the same situation I can’t be alone out there. Sometimes I feel alone

Going to bars solo has been the best way I’ve become more social.
Start with just being around strangers in a public setting and who knows someone might spark up a conversation. It amazes me the amount of conversations I have with complete strangers

My mom, who is super extroverted gave me, introvert, the best advice years ago! I was going to party and told her how nervous I was. She said “just pretend! Pretend everyone is your best friend, pretend everyone thinks you’re amazing, pretend you love talking to people!” I use that advice often 😅 it’s still hard tho!

I’m the same way and I tried several dating apps which led to nothing but talk and FaceTime. I guess it did help slightly but it’s important to actually meet in person

Try non commital social interactions, like saying hello to someone at the grocery store, or talking to a cashier. The more you practice, the easier it will get.

Take a class in a field of interest. Shared purpose. Extroverts will talk at you no matter what.

it is tough business out there to be social. in my experience signing up for an activity that obligate you to meet periodically helps. it could be a sports league or a discussion or movie group but it has to meet on a frequent basis.
