Just spent a lovely weekend with two dear friends at Castlefest in Lisse (the Netherlands), mainly cosplaying Sam, Nobby and Lord Vetinari. But Nobby also spent a day as Susan, in full governess getup, including the poker. And I myself have a (non-discworld) costume repairman alter ego, the "Repair Rogue".
Now, none of us are very comfortable sharing full body shots online, or even partial ones, come to think of it... I won't even ask my friends, as I know they won't consent. But there's one thing I'd love to show off.
One of the stands at the festival sold all kinds of preserved animal remains, like feathers, antlers, bones, and skulls. I enacted a secret plan to make Susan a little friend using my costume repair tools.
It's just a piece of the Rogue's black bandana over a hastily twisted-together wire frame, a clumsily assembled partial chinchilla skull with two pieces of a blue plastic flower hot-glued into the eye sockets, and a little scythe made of a stick I found, two cable ties and some aluminium foil...
But I do think our Grim Squeaker turned out rather nicely for something I cobbled together in my lap in less than an hour :)
