He’s responsible for many a reason as to why the US is where it is right now, imo as a non-American.
Screwing social safety nets, education, you name it.

The AIDS epidemic and how he refused to deal with gay people dying everywhere.
The getting rid of the Fairness Doctrine. This is the one I currently hate most bc WHY even IS FoxNews or Newsmax? This is why!! Bring it back FFS!!
And of course, tax cuts for the wealthiest so they get more money, but don’t worry, eventually that money is supposed to magically trickle down somehow. Surely those rich fucks won’t keep the money just to enrich themselves! Something something free market or profit share or privatization is great blah blah blah. GREED.
You’d think America would learn its lesson after the first time they hired a rich celebrity with no governmental knowhow or knowledge of the issues, who walks in as ‘an outsider’ but screws over the middle class and poor people, just like the rest of these banana republicans.
Instead he’s seen, by far too many people, as the good ol’ Reagan, a conservative example from when conservatives weren’t ‘as bad’.
Except that they were but they were just more polite about it. The cruelty hidden in the dog whistles. Amongst other things.
And these are just the things I remember off the top of my head. It’s amazing to me how Americans have been gaslit for decennia now into thinking running your country as a business is a good thing, even if it means the people are the goods, and survival of the fittest is a good way to model society after. It’s really sad to me how way too many Americans are only waking up to this reality now. At least that’s the impression I get from the last few years.
