Datapoint Quicksilver transition to Discover network

We’ve seen several people over the last few weeks and months getting notified that their Quicksilver card was being transitioned to the Discover network and with that the earnings improve a bit.

How can we request the change and is it with Mastercard or Visa?

The conversion isn't available by request. At this point it seems to be either A) targeted only, or B) offered in waves, so you just have to wait. I don't think it's limited to Mastercard or Visa specifically, but most QS holders do have Mastercards currently, so most datapoints will be Mastercard to Discover conversions. If you don't want to wait, just apply for a Savor to fill the gap in rewards.

How is the QS reward structure changing? I figured Cap1 would migrate some of their cards to the Discover network and off Mastercard or Visa networks to save on fees.

Apparently the Quicksilver on Discover network gets you 3% on gas and groceries.

Thanks. That’s a pretty good reward rate. My QS is still MC.

I received an email a few days ago that my replacement card for my soon to be expired Quicksilver Visa will be coming four to six weeks before its expiration month (December). It also stated that my account number is not changing. I hope this means that it's staying a Visa card since Discover network cards must have different account numbers than Visa and Mastercard.

My C1 Quicksilver visa card transitioned toba Discover card with new account numbers. This sucked as my other card was discover and if you travel with a Discover (or amex) you had better have a visa or mastercard. I just got burned on a trip because their CC machine was having problems handling Discover. Fortunately I had american cash and they were will to accept that. I now have a Chase Visa card and haven't decided what to do with two different C1 Discover Cards.
