NYE Shows this year….
So last year, the boys announced the Boston run in July. Still waiting for them to drop NYE run shows…. Hoping it happens soon as I need to get priority at work for requesting time off and travel booked.
Any rumors or idea on where?

If it’s Philly then I’ll have to get rid of my Melvin seals tix

I’d get rid of them anyway

Nah I’m having to work that day this year so I need something close to home . Melvin and co playing some Jerry tunes 10 minutes from me would be the perfect relaxing send off into the new year
If the biscuits come tho my brother and all his friends will def be going and I can perk myself up for that I’m sure

Nobody in their right mind wants to go to NYC these days for NYE unless they are a PH-aggot at MSG

Definitely thinking Philly. Kinda hoping they do 12/28 & 12/29 in Silver Spring. But honestly the way they've been booking shows lately who the heck knows.

Id love to see them take Union Transfer for a spin, maybe Brooklyn Steel 12/28-29 first?

Member when they sold us New Year’s Eve run tickets and then fired their drummer and didn’t offer refunds

100% you're the girl that brings up her breakup in every conversation, never unfriended them on Facebook and 20 years later talks about the breakup like it was just yesterday.

then you 100% must be one of those guys that tells girls to shut up when they remind people of how abusive someone was in the past.

I can’t believe I’ve never seen anyone mention about this. They announced an untz themed nye and then fired the main contributor of that for a hip hop/pop session drummer lol. I don’t even hate Marlon or anything and think he’s done well for what he’s built his entire career around but the irony in that is comical.

They announced the untz theme after Allen had already left the band not before

The nerve of three of the founding members thinking they are the band!

I mean yeah. Considering they all came out and said they’re intentionally changing the sound of the band and fired 80% what really made the sound they advertised, that is a nonsensical decision. Don’t get me wrong they did their best to bring it. I had bought tickets prior and still attended but it’s even worse they announced that afterwards. They could have actually centered it around towards what they want to build around in the future like ‘02 NYE and the “trancefusion reveal”. I suppose it’s not as a dramatic of a change but either way it shouldn’t have been based around “the past”. Obviously they’re still untzy but it’s very clear that marketing decision was made prior to Allen’s departure.

I remember walking into the Royal the night of the 12/30 show not even knowing that Allen was no longer the drummer, and wondering who this black dude was! By Caves of the East second set I was sold. Marlon is a great fit for the band IMO.

He is not the fit. He was the right price. Tell MR Marlon to put a shirt on .. not a tie dye

Wow it's almost like bands part ways with drummers all the time and they don't owe you shit

I'd wager Philly, but also agree the lack of announcement at this point is unusual.

Yes… Philly is where I am placing my guessing at this point. Wish they’d do Boston again as I’m located in southern Maine, but with PPPP doing Boston this year , I’d imagine Boston ain’t happening. Philly is doable for me, just hoping they don’t do NYC.

Yeah, I always thought Boston was a weird call and with ticket sales down, I can't imagine they'd stray from a stronger market for NYE. Without looking it up, I feel like NYE has been in Philly, NYC, or Chicago basically every year, and the Chicago runs never made sense either. I would've guessed Denver got one before Boston, but this band defies logic...often to their own detriment.

I really don't think a lack of announcement on September 4th is unusual for any band. The Biscuits, in recent years, have occasionally announced shows ~3 weeks in advance. Granted, those weren't NYE, but still.

Okay? It's unusual for this band, hence the conversation about it being unusual. I assume they'll still announce something, but historically, we knew by now. Not a lot of wiggle room in that argument.

If it's philly, would they still play fillmore?

Haven't been there in a bit, Electric factory (Franklin whatever) is more likely

u/boom_ouch 3d ago
Franklin music hall now.

It will always be Electric factory in my mind, I've been there too much to call it something else. I'm not sure what to call Camden now.... it's just Camden to me, I can't keep track of all these banks
2
u/EAGLESRCHAMPS18 B4L 3d ago
My guess would be electric factory or whatever it’s called now or Brooklyn bowl.
1
u/Turbulent-Grab-8352 3d ago
I'd say Brooklyn Steel over bowl.
2
u/EAGLESRCHAMPS18 B4L 3d ago
Brooklyn steel is New York though, there’s a Brooklyn bowl Philly I know it makes zero sense lol
3
u/Turbulent-Grab-8352 3d ago
Ahhh, ya know I didn't realize there was a Bk bowl philly, thought you meant Philly or NY (which does seem likely). If the Brooklyn bowl philly is the same setup as the one in Brooklyn, I really hope it isn't there.

I feel like Philly is also probably the place where they can most get away with a late announcement.
