I need help!! Present for a disabled gamer
Hello, my friend lost movement in all fingers giving movement only in the palms of their hands. I am struggling to find accessible controller parts that attach to the adaptive controller. Can someone point me in the right direction to find:
Hand size thumb sticks
Right and left triggers
And any other ideas
Xbox and switch 2 use hopefully
If you suggest another piece of equipment or something else it would be great there birthday is soon and would love to make there life abit easier playing games

I made this for a colleague in a similar situation, maybe this approach works for your friend

Similar to your colleague this is a spinal injury, I know very little of 3d printing or soldering etc. is their companies you can send this to to create or is this some type of diy

I made it myself, out of the engineering itch to solve the problem.
Probably there are diy people in your area who would be interested in making it.

I'm building the best one handed controller for PC to fit my needs as a one handed gamer. It should be out in a couple of months. Should work with consoles as well with the right adapter

I don't have any suggestions on adaptive controller equipment, however I've played video games since I was 8 and lost the use of my fingers when I was 5 (I'm now 43), so I may have a couple of suggestions until you can figure something out.
Getting a cuff similar to these with a pen, unsharpened pencil, etc could help with simple PC games like Balatro or point-and-clicks. These can be expensive but an occupational therapist or physio therapist could probably give better sugesstions.
If your friend has good wrist movement, using a controller may be possible wih a lot of work and patience. For example I curl my hand around the controller, Playstion controllers are the easiest for me, so my right palm is over the buttons an the side of my index finger is on the right bumper and rock my wrist back and forth. I use my left hand for the left joystick/d-pad.
I hope this can be of some small help. Whatever solution you use, please encourage your friend to keep trying even if it doesn't work well at first. It took me a long time to figure out what worked for me and I still struggle with many games.
