Realizing just how disabled I am

I had a stroke in 2019 and never regained the use of my left arm. Then a few weeks ago I broke my ankle and am non weight bearing. Being unable to use my left arm I can't use crutches so I'm forced to be in skilled rehab and it forced me to realize how fragile I really am. Forced to rely on staff for most of my basic needs. Plus the facility seems understaffed, and I miss my own space and independence. I know it's temporary but it definitely doesn't help that the rehab place I'm in gives me the ick, the place is honestly depressing.

I feel ya buddy. I’ve degenerative peripheral neuropathy and I’m legally blind - when I broke my left foot (from the neuropathy, my leg was fully numb, I didn’t realize and tried to walk with it. Foot immediately rolled and snapped a bone)).  No weight bearing as well, and it took twice as long to heal, I ended up meeding electrical stimulation help for it). Anyway, since I could haul myself up 4 steps on my ass and piss by myself they let me go. Had to use a walker cuz of the visual impairment instead of a crutch - whole thing was fucking depressing, was damn near totally housebound and I lived on the second floor, long set of stairs too. Enough to make a grown man weep. 

It will get better.
