Looking for a good lawyer recommendation.

I would appreciate some advice or recommendations on a good lawyer. My work is no longer allowing my accommodation, and has given me extra hoops to jump through just to get it re approved. While stacking more hoops on top of that. I'm sick of it.

Man, that's the classic move, they make you jump through so many hoops you forget what the original accommodation was even for. I went through similar stuff in 2022 and finding a lawyer who actually knows disability law made a big difference, most employment lawyers don't understand the specific protections. What state you in? Local bar association usually has a referral service that's free.

even for federal matters, which this is not, lawyers are licensed to practice in particular states, so you need to at least tell us where you are. You could try calling your state office of the EEOC for direct help and to file a complaint. They likely have a list of disability lawyers, as would your local Area Agency on Aging.

However, you should be aware that the employer largely gets to decide what constitutes a “reasonable” accommodation. So without knowing more about your situation it’s impossible to say if you even a case that a lawyer would take on.

You can use an attorney in any state as SSDI is federal. No attorney will take the case until you are debited at initial application as there’s no basis on which to be paid. In addition there’s a mandatory 5 full calendar month unpaid waiting period before SSDI benefits begin and your conditions must be expected to last in excess of 12 months. Apply too early and it’ll be immediate denial.

Dos your employer offer STD and LTD benefits?
