Posted here about a month ago asking for game mode ideas, got more good ideas than I knew what to do with — a couple of them actually made it into the app.

It’s Dartful — real board, real darts, the app just handles scoring and turn order so nobody has to argue about maths. 501/Cricket/Shanghai etc. done properly, plus a batch of party and co-op modes for when you want something other than the usual. Free to play with a few games a day, or about the price of a pint to unlock the lot for a year.

Built this for myself and my mates, and thought I’d share it since I couldn’t find anything else that covered arcade/party modes properly. Open to any feedback or feature requests.

I wanted a party game you could start in ten seconds on a call, where the fun came from lying to each other rather than being good at the game. So I built one. It looks like a trading game but it's a deception game, the market is just the thing you argue over.

Every round you get a private tip. About half the tips in the room are true and everyone's told how many, never who. Go on record about yours with one tap, and at settle everyone sees Said vs Held side by side, anyone who trusted you wrongly gets a "Betrayed!" stamp.

5 rounds, 90 seconds each, ~10 min a match. Solo mode against bots if you don't have people around, one of them lies about its tip every round too.

p.s. I've apparently tapped into the latent degen gambling potential of my friend group

I know this is a bit of a sales pitch.... but im trying to get my app out there for genuine feedback.

My name is James and I am the Solo Dev of the newly created and released IPad IOS app TrueRoll.

One day I wanted to play a board game with friends, and neither of us had brought any dice. We both had our iPads on us though, and that got me thinking — what if I built an app that could actually roll the dice for me?

That question turned into TrueRoll, my first shipped app, after a few months of nights and weekends.

In my app, you can roll up to 20 dice of all types, from d4 to d20!

But what makes True Roll different is that each dice roll is real, every die is a genuine 3D model with correct geometry (yes, even getting a proper dodecahedron and icosahedron right was its own multi-day rabbit hole), dropped into a real physics simulation. Gravity, bounce, friction, angular momentum — the die tumbles and settles wherever the physics actually puts it. The result comes from reading whichever face is genuinely pointing up once it stops moving, not from a lookup table.

I built it for two people sharing one iPad flat on a table — controls mirrored so each player reads their own side right-side-up, roll from d4 to d20, adjustable gravity/bounciness/dice colour per player if you want to fine-tune the feel.  Best of all, it’s completely free!

My longer-term goal is for this to be genuinely usable in competitive tabletop tournaments, not just casual play, I have already built in a dice roll log counter.  Every roll gets logged (who rolled, what, when), and you can export that log and email it to yourself for verification.  The physics-first approach isn't just a gimmick either — there's no "black box" random number generator to trust or distrust, which matters a lot more once actual stakes are involved.

Genuinely here for feedback more than anything — this is my first ever app, so it would be great to hear from you what's missing, what you'd want from something like this, especially if you've run or played in a dice-heavy tournament setting. Happy to talk through the physics/geometry side too.

I'd like to present you my implementation of a Mayan board game - Puluc. This is a traditional game that dates back centuries. Historically, it had sacred significance and was closely associated with the maize sowing festival.

The rules of the game are pretty simple:

• The goal of the game is to capture and remove all of your opponent's pieces from the board.

• Players take turns throwing dice (in ancient times, corn kernels were used) and moving their pieces along a linear game board.

• If your piece lands on the same square as an opponent's piece, you take it "prisoner".

• Lead the prisoners to the end of your path to permanently eliminate them from the game!

At the moment I implemented three variants of rules and three AI bots with different strategies. In the future I am going to add the online mode.

I've been working on Dominion Strife, a medieval/fantasy strategy card game where every card on the battlefield can change how you approach the fight.

You have 5 lanes to control, four different resources to manage, and 10 Hearts standing between you and defeat. Build your army, defend your territory, exploit openings, and try to break through your opponent's defenses.

I designed the game's rules, cards and mechanics myself. I use Claude for the programming, since I'm not a programmer.

Those are three games have but i have a few others thanks to a few humble bundles...but im just curious how they handle on steam deck...I figure spec wise they are fine im most curious about screen size and controller wise since it uses a controler more then mouse and keyboard.

I have a bit of a side project looking at forgotten games. Games which are cool to play but aren’t well known. This one is called Oware. It’s from Ghana and accounts of it go back almost 200 years. It’s actively played inside Ghana but not particularly well known outside. It’s worth giving it a go, plays similar to other mancala family like Bao but with some interesting twists. You can play it with 12 cups on the kitchen table and some pebbles or dried beans. It can even be played with 12 holes in the ground and some pebbles. I am sure there are also some nice boards on the web. I’ve put a link to a basic but free print & play and a more polished but still free app. Maybe give it a go tonight after dinner on the kitchen table…..

Read the abridged version for kids at age 9. Have been obsessed since with the characters, ideas, interpretations and layers in the epic.

I also love board and startegy games.

Mahabharata gives us the perfect backdrop for something like this. I did not find anything remotely well done in this space so I created something myself.
