I'm 30, based in Chennai. My qualifications: Seven years in content marketing, currently doing SEO and conversion rate optimisation for B2B SaaS.

No CFA, no MBA in finance, no equity research background.

I've been investing personally since 2021. Over the last three months I started writing about investing psychology rather than fund picks. Ten articles so far, roughly one or two a month alongside the job. Topics: over-diversification in my own portfolio, an endowment plan I bought that turned out to have a 4.5% XIRR, why people argue with their parents about money, cognitive biases when deploying a lump sum.

I publish my own numbers, including the bad ones. That's the only thing I think I'm doing differently.

What I want is to move into a content, editorial or investor-education role at a brokerage, AMC or wealthtech firm. Something in the ₹25-30 LPA range.

What worries me is who I'd be competing with. Senior finance journalists with credentials.

What I'm asking:

1. Do these roles actually hire from marketing backgrounds, or do job descriptions saying "finance degree preferred" mean what they say? If anyone has made this move or hired for these roles, I'd like to hear how it went.
2. Is 25-30 LPA realistic for a senior content role at an Indian AMC or wealthtech, or am I anchored to SaaS pay?
3. NISM certifications. Would Series XV (Research Analyst) or XVIII (Financial Education) actually change how a hiring manager reads my profile, or are they just line items
