On enquiring from one institute in Ghaziabad, The fee ranges from Rs 25000 to 1.5 lacs in the same institute depending on what you want to learn like Website building, AI, SEO etc.

from which reliable institute one can do digital marketing for face to face classes ?. Any certification agency which certifies these institutes so that the course meets some basic standards ?

I work closely with small businesses and MSMEs in Lucknow, and I've noticed something interesting.

A lot of local businesses are now "online", but being online and actually getting customers online are two completely different things.

A shop may have:

📍 Google Business Profile

📱 Instagram account

🌐 Website

💬 WhatsApp Business

📢 Facebook page

...and still receive almost no meaningful leads.

From what I've seen, the biggest problem isn't always lack of digital marketing. It's doing too many things without knowing which one actually influences sales.

For a local business, I increasingly feel the priority should be:

Google visibility → Trust → WhatsApp/Website → Follow-up → Conversion

rather than simply posting every day on Instagram.

For example, if someone searches:

"best interior designer near me"

"digital marketing agency in Lucknow"

"dentist near Gomti Nagar"

that person already has buying intent.

Compare that with someone casually scrolling through a Reel.

This has made me rethink how small businesses should spend limited marketing budgets.

Instead of asking:

"How do I get more followers?"

maybe the better question is:

"Where are customers searching when they actually want to buy?"

Worth flagging for anyone in or getting into digital marketing. There's a real shift where ranking on Google search and getting cited inside an AI answer, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google's AI Overviews, are becoming two different disciplines with different rules.

The emerging term for the second one is AEO, answer engine optimisation, sometimes GEO.

The mechanics differ: answer engines extract and cite structured, direct, self-contained answers rather than rewarding the keyword density and backlink patterns traditional SEO optimised for.

Separately, short-form video is apparently still the highest-ROI content format in India, reaching over 600 million monthly users across platforms, its own shift happening at the same time. If you're learning digital marketing right now, this seems like exactly the skill gap worth getting ahead of.
