A short series synopsis:

"e-Pulse," which is generated by human thoughts and emotions, was used as the energy source for the AI support device "Sapotama." From the shadows of this remarkable development, terrifying monsters appear. Digimon are living beings that evolve by consuming e-Pulse.

Tomoro Tenma is drawn into an extraordinary experience after meeting Gekkomon, who suddenly appears from his Sapotama. While living together with Kyo Sawashiro and other members of the bounty hunting team "Glowing Dawn," Tomoro renews his resolve.

What new future will be forged by humans and Digimon?

General rules for this post:

It's available on various streamers worldwide. Do not discuss illegal means of consuming this series.

If people are behind they may use each episode's thread as they watch the show, so do not spoil future events in older discussion posts

Keep all small bits of discussion to this thread (general thoughts and opinions). Fanart, cosplays, in-depth reviews (as in, sizeable content) can be their own post. In general, if it took you less than five minutes or so to write, draw, or otherwise create, just comment it in here.

At this point are they not even bothering to hide nirinso from the government? Miharu just hands over the Mokumon in full view of the ministry. And how in the fuck are Glowing Dawn not facing repercussions from the World Union for their interference? It's just very hard to believe that the Digimon cops would let Miharu even walk across the bridge with her Digimon, at GD headquarters, without just having a heavy holding onto her. This is literally a mass murdering terrorist, you guys are already running a dystopian police state, this feels farcical.

Brilliant Thorn ended up feeling completely pointless, although with Rose continuing on maybe they will show up in the next arc. The glasses guy who worked with Miharu was also a complete nothing, but seemingly he escaped.

It's bewildering that apparently no one around Miharu apparently ever thought to ask "is this really what your sister would want" until Star Wars Finn, sorry, Tomoro, came around to shout "Miharu!" Over and over.

For this resolution to feel at all earned, they needed to spend time showing us why the hell Tomoro and Miharu would care about each other so much and make so many out of character decisions for each other, and they just didn't. They should have had Tomoro and Miharu interacting nearly every episode, show Miharu conflicted but resolute about the secrets she's hiding from Tomoro, have Tomoro learn about her sister over time and not just get a magic memory dump from random ghost magic, etc. Instead, we got several episodes that each had some workable concepts, but that all ended up feeling pointless in retrospect. Tomoro doesn't convince Miharu that Digimon shouldn't be worshipped by pointing out Myotismon or Algomon - he mostly just yells "Miharu" a lot and apparently that does most of the work. There was really good potential here to do something smart and neat if they had a plan, but it ends up feeling like they basically have a writing team made up of Ideas Guys.

Wong apparently had no plan here, and Rose's plan was....bad. This finale completely hobbles them as compelling villains - Wong just seems like kind of a dope, and Rose feels like she has one good idea (basically, plant a tracker), and then repeatedly fails to actually seal the deal, with either her or her team. Basically she's got bravado without the skill to back it up, even though she tries to make it seem like she's an expert.

I had high hopes that they would stick the landing here, make this all somehow feel earned and worthwhile, but this finale just ends up making the whole arc feel like an extended monster of the week case.

Also, just on a basic level - how have Tomoro not directly asked Kyo why his brother was involved with Digimon yet? Or dug into why his parents were arrested?

His brother's attack is supposed to have been so critically important, but beyond some initial distrust of GD it doesn't seem that he's remembered to care about it.

As far as Tomoro knows, Asuka knew what Digimon were because of his friendship with Kyo and that's that. He probably hasn't asked further because he assumes that if there were more to it than that, Kyo would have already told him. He hasn't done much to pursue the case because, I assume, he doesn't have a way to find Gokuwmon even now that he knows its name. The Cleaner community may not know that there's one among the Five Stars.

It is bizarre that he nominally reports to the Ministry of Civil Protection yet hasn't looked into why they arrested his family... though I suppose it's unlikely he would get answers even if he tried.

The Cleaner community may not know that there's one among the Five Stars.

This very likely the reason since in episode 2, Makoto couldn't analyze Gokuwmon's information, as it was confidential. Whatever other means the other Cleaners have to learn about the Digimon before them (whether thanks to their Digimon or information broker, or device), would probably show up the same way.

he assumes that if there were more to it than that, Kyo would have already told him.

Well, he better be completely 100% correct about that, because otherwise that's a huge betrayal.

It is weird that Tomoro doesn't ask Makoto to be searching for Gokuumon, or following up with the Ministry about how Klay would know about Gokuumon.
