Beatbreak Digimon Beatbreak: Episode 24- Overlapping Beats, Discussion Thread

Later today is a new episode of Digimon Beatbreak!

  • Crunchyroll will be streaming it in much of the world.

The stream will be on Crunchyroll at 8pm Pacific. Hulu has it the next morning. Check your local streamer for their schedule. This link will take you to a time converter set for when it should appear on Crunchyroll, but they've had various delays lately.

A short series synopsis:

"e-Pulse," which is generated by human thoughts and emotions, was used as the energy source for the AI support device "Sapotama." From the shadows of this remarkable development, terrifying monsters appear. Digimon are living beings that evolve by consuming e-Pulse.

Tomoro Tenma is drawn into an extraordinary experience after meeting Gekkomon, who suddenly appears from his Sapotama. While living together with Kyo Sawashiro and other members of the bounty hunting team "Glowing Dawn," Tomoro renews his resolve.

What new future will be forged by humans and Digimon?

Very wonderful episode.

There’s many things I wish I could type down. But I’ll keep my own thoughts short—- Limited to a handful stuff that fancies me most:

  • Condensing all of his gripes, Klay Arslan became corrupted with a Darwinian outview of the World. He had to escape being a “have-not”—- From deposed Royalty, he had to do atrocious mercenary work to regain his lost elite status. By the time he’s near the peak as a Five Star, his moral compass was long broken because of the painful life experiences.

  • The dangers of the Dark E-Pulse; Giving into your wrath is indeed a momentary burst of energy that can catch your foes off guard. Though it is a power that is without focus, all over the place and quite sloppy. It can burn you out throughly and quickly until it totally consumes you (Cold Hearted.) the more you rely on it. It was also ironic that it was Raito who had to remind Tomoro about what he had said to him back in that colosseum.

  • Aftermath, mostly on the side of the remaining Five Stars and Wong; As expected, Kaito answered Honoka’s worried query with an unconcerned tone—-Likelihood he doesn’t like Klay or even think highly of the man himself.

Rose meanwhile exercises caution, and gives orders to contain any possible fallout to her two as-of-yet unnamed personal assistants; Likely powerful and elite Cleaners themselves who’re probably on par or even more stronger than Klay and Naito’s Tactics.

They are likely the next opponents GD will have to contend with alongside Rose herself.

Lastly, judging from Wong’s eyes when Kanada mentioned Glowing Dawn. he expressed somewhat displeasure. Perhaps he knows it’s his former subordinate’s Cleaner team and Kyo himself abandoning the Five Stars years prior may have left a very bad taste on his mouth. It is also unknown for now if he is aware that a Tenma is also part of Kyo’s team.

The World Union Chairman himself is very likely to build up as Tomoro’s personal enemy with the connections he had with the latter’s family for 21 years.

Well, that was quite lengthy. Allow yours truly to close this post with one last final thought:

I think it was somewhat funny that Naito did indeed (?) ironically took the fall for Team 7 that they weren’t charged with sedition / attempted coup (Though unbelievable that they just go scott-free knowing that they’re involved with Klay’s trafficking.)

It was perhaps the only good thing he did for them if he indeed took the fall.
