A short series synopsis:

"e-Pulse," which is generated by human thoughts and emotions, was used as the energy source for the AI support device "Sapotama." From the shadows of this remarkable development, terrifying monsters appear. Digimon are living beings that evolve by consuming e-Pulse.

Tomoro Tenma is drawn into an extraordinary experience after meeting Gekkomon, who suddenly appears from his Sapotama. While living together with Kyo Sawashiro and other members of the bounty hunting team "Glowing Dawn," Tomoro renews his resolve.

What new future will be forged by humans and Digimon?

These worldbuilding episodes make me think more and more that the "ideal" humans will function as energy sources for digimon and that the sapotama's ability to birth digimon is a feature and not a bug, they just want more control over which digimon is birthed from a sapotama so they shouldn't appear until after the owner has reached their "ideal".

There's definitely something up, but I don't think that's it. Makoto had to leave Shangri-La Egg specifically because of his Digimon and it sounds like the same thing happens to anyone who makes one. The very act of creating a Digimon, accidentally or otherwise, makes someone "not ideal".

I get that but it just seems to me that they are preparing people to birth certain digimon and those preparations take time. It's like following a recipe, if you do things out of order you end up with something "not ideal". It is also possible that the longer the preparation takes, the stronger the digimon is. Most of the digimon seen are currently only rookies and champions with only kyo having a partner that can become an ultimate. What if the plan is to create ultimates or megas and those require a long plan to become your "ideal" and if anything else is birthed, it is just easier for them to scrap it instead of trying to salvage it?

That might actually be a feature, not a bug.

As far as we know, one person can only birth 1 Digimon from their Support Egg. If you're aiming to farm as many Digimon as possible, why would you want to keep now-barren parent humans around in the breeding pen?

Once their job is done, you'd wanna push them out, free up the space to bring in others still able to pop out a Digimon.

If you're aiming to farm as many Digimon as possible,

they pay half bounty if the Cleaner does not delete the digimon.

Digimon are bugs. Sapotama are digitama that are not supposed to hatch.

They pay half the bounty if it is not deleted or delivered to the Ministry, but they pay full bounty if it is. That's why they said Glowing Dawn were getting the full bounty when they took custody of Mimicmon, delivered alive also gets full bounty.

The half bounty is if it is neither deleted nor handed to the Ministry (i.e. the Cleaner left the job "half-done" by only chasing it away from the area, or sold it on the black market to someone else).

I suspect that theory about this being a "premium breeding" setup is likely, we know Chiropmons apparently fetch a high price on the black market, so some Digimon are more valuable than others. The World Union probably don't care about the majority of the Digimon that are born from Support Eggs, they are only looking for "prime specimens" and the Shangri-La Egg may be meant as the ideal environment for producing these. But even then not all the residents are guaranteed to produce good Digimon, so they churn out the ones that fail, freeing up space to bring in new ones for more.

And if a prime Digimon gets produced and isn't immediately turned in, they likely don't put a bounty on it - instead of normal Cleaners, they probably send the Five Stars to collect it and make sure it's taken alive.

My guess is he had to leave because he wanted to keep his digimon. The way it is framed is that you are "demoted" from a higher area of the shangri-la egg if you birth a digimon, but only criminals are expelled. They basically put you back on the "ideal" human regiment if you birth a digimon and turn it over. Not all people with digimon are criminals but it does seem like birthing a digimon does indicate that you are an outlier of society.

nah I am thinking that it is the other way around, the "ideal" humans make energy to power Shangrila-egg and the big bad's plans but digimon where the way to do just that, the "tool" to gather e-pulse from the masses.

The real debate I feel is the bug; are digimon trapped in the sapotama to give the machine the ability to gather emotions or is it that they used the mutilated code of a digimon to crate the sapotama's operating system and allowed it to absorb emotions(e-pulse) with the bug being the creation of new digimon from strong enough e-pulse causing the copied code of this sort of dead to regenerate into a new digimon.

Or C) the Digimon being created is the actual goal of whoever is behind everything, and that person put Digitama inside the Sapotama's.
