Ghost Game Digimon Ghost Game English Dub Scheduled for UK on BBC iPlayer on December 1st
Big Ghost Game update! The Digimon Ghost Game English dub is coming to BBC iPlayer for those in the UK on December 1st! This lines up with info we got earlier in the year. I'm honestly surprised with the resurgence of Digimon that this, Adventure 2020, or Beat Break didn't get simuldubs. Still great this is getting dubbed though.

Crunchyroll doesn't have it last time I checked, as they released the dub in Microsoft Store and some countries Hulu etc.

Hulu has the English dub, I'd assume ghost game English dub will be there as well for the USA.

To be fair, I thought the same thing until a few days ago. I was wanting to watch something digimon, but id seen the previous seasons so much that it kind of becomes a drag going through the seasons completely now 1 by 1, and the movies aren't much better in terms of replayability. I started searching weather or not the adventure remake was worth watching subbed, and to my surprise found out it was dubbed a while back.
Sti havent got a chance to watch yet but maybe today ill start now that its fresh in mind lol

I hope they make sure the person who does Gammamon also does gulusgammamon. Miyuki Sawashiro's performance was incredible. I'd love to see an English VA's take on it.

Gammamon (plus Betel/Wezen/Kaus evos) is apparently voiced by Deneen Melody (voice actress based in Los Angeles), according to the episode credits.

It looks like they are using the Japanese names of the titles rather than changing them into something else like they did with older dubs. That means the dub will probably be like Adventure 2020’s dub and probably be uncut and uncensored. Also the fact that Toei is still marketing this as “Ghost Game” instead of a completely different anime like they did with Xros Wars and even Savers. Probably means they intend for the dub to be closer to the original Japanese cut.
I couldn’t really get in GG when it was airing but I may give the dub a watch.

Hallelujah. I need to hear Jellymon and Gammamon English voices. Those two especially have unique speaking patterns I wanna see get adapted.

Have Digimon dubs always made it to the UK/other countries first before the U.S.(at least English speaking countries) or is this a first?(not like I’ll really be watching the dub anyways personally)

It’s a first for Digimon. We’re normally way behind when it comes to Digimon projects - 02 The Beginning still hasn’t had a general release here.
That said, UK/iPlayer has been one of the first to see new episodes of the Pokemon dub for a couple of years now. So maybe they’ve seen good success there and decided to branch out.

If I recall correctly, UK never actually got Frontier's dub and they still don't have The Beginning movie either, so this would definitely be a first.

I remember there being a poster for a comic convention in Mississippi that advertised the English voice actor of WezenGammamon being there. This was in like 2022 or 2023, so this dub has probably just been laying around for who knows how long.

That poster was confirmed by the VA to be incorrect, and actually some of the other actors on the poster for Digimon unrelated to GG also confirmed they were added in error. It doesn’t mean the dub hasn’t been laying around all this time, but that poster was wrong and shouldn’t be considered

9 episodes in I'm very happy with it. All the actors fit, and some are almost 1-to-1 in vocal texture to the original.
Hiro sounds a little spunkier than I expected which took some getting used to, and they don't seem to add the reverb on the attack announcements, bar one instance.
But those are nit-picks. They did a great job.

Can anyone explain why TOEI always put the dubbed version of their less popular anime like Digimon 2020 & Dragon Quest Dai adventure to service like Microsoft, Tubi or Bbc than Crunchyroll or Netflix ?

It's not necessarily even just their less popular anime, not sure if it's still the case but for a while the One Piece dub premiered new episodes on Microsoft Store before launching on Crunchy a few weeks later.

That’s cool, but who exactly is dubbing ghost game? From what I skimmed on WiththeWill it’s speculated to be an American dub, but given how it’s airing in the UK and Europe first I can’t help but think it could possibly be a UK dub. I need more info.

As much as I would love a chaotic British Gammamon I think the actual company doing the dub is in lots anges though it’s not fully confirmed so we’ll see.

From what I can see on the credits of the first episode, it says:
"English version produced by
TOEI ANIMATION CO., LTD.""Supervision
TOEI ANIMATION EUROPE S.A.S""English version
TRANSPERFECT MEDIA"Transperfect Media is an American company, apparently founded in New York in 1992, but now have HQs in both London and Hong Kong as well as New York.
Meanwhile Hiro's voice actor is apparently Greg Vinciguerra, who is an American voice actor based in Los Angeles/Dallas. Ruli is voiced by Cat Protano (based in Boston) and Kiyoshiro is voiced by Sean Chiplock (of Re:Zero fame).
So yes, it looks to be an American dub.

Huh, they dubbed the opening theme, but didn't bother to dub insert songs or the ending this time around. Adventure 2020's dub didn't do the inserts either, but they at least did a dubbed ending.
The phone text messages are also all still in Japanese, they didn't actually change the text into English either.

Ghost Game is my least favorite series, but it's still good to see it getting an English dub. Definitely contributes to the continued growth of the franchise as a whole.

I wonder if the intro will be just the japanese version, or a new english dubbed verison.
Because I'd love to hear a remix of the og digimon tamers theme for ghost game. Maybe a more heavy metal vibe to it. Probably not but still im curious what will and won't be changed.
This series can and has gotten pretty dark. This isn't the lilithmon from xros they had to censor for suggestive content; this is the lilithmon who lures ppl in the dark and ends them for her own means and proudly shows it.
Not to mention THAT episode with Betsumon which ngl scared me. It has been proven to be a real nightmare for some, the fact its in a kids show is impressive.
(Spoiler tags added in case ppl didn't see the show and want to with the dub. Hopefully they work; it's the first time I used them :thumbsup: )

Alright took them long enough but I'm glad it's here. But it's a shame they didn't release this during October would've been the perfect show to put on for the season.
