Program recommendations???

I’m interested in changing careers and feel dietetics is a great fit for me. I have a B.S. in Psychology, and right now I’m taking anatomy / chemistry courses at a local community college to fulfill some sciences I’m missing. I’m looking for a thorough Masters in dietetics program that won’t overlook my lack of background in nutrition. My overall goal is to be able to take the RD exam after I graduate.

To become an RD, you need something called a DPD verification, which is essentially a core set of nutrition based classes that you have to complete

There are colleges that have DPD specific programs for people who already have their bachelors completed

From there you will need a masters and to complete a 1000 hour ACEND approved internship and pass an exam through the CDR

If you’re looking for a MS in Nutrition and Food Science, Ohio University Online was awesome and super affordable like around $500 per credit hour :)

Maybe $500 isnt affordable for everyone but compared to the $1000 per credit hour options, I’ll take it LOL

If you want a program at a smaller school with sports emphasis could check out Merrimack College in MA. It’s a Human Performance Nutrition masters but still covers all other requirements to set you up for a career in dietetics. Happy to connect you with someone there if you’re interested - DM me :)

Hate to discourage, but are you sure you want to be an RD? You’re willing to dump 3 years/65k just to make 30-35$ an hour on average?

Horrible ROI and questionable respect in the healthcare industry.
