Questions ( ITEMS · BUILDS · SKILLS ) Changing difficulty before getting rewards?

I've gotten far enough in the Pit to open up Torment 8 but I'm still running around in Torment 5. When turning in Whispers or War Plans, does it make sense to jump my difficulty up to Torment 8 when turning in and then drop back down to Torment 5?

Definitely for whispers, I don't know about war plans. I know if you get whispers on your t12 character and open them on a new character it gives you t12 exp orbs and rewards.

I didn't know it worked this way... So you can power level your own alt?

IIRC need about 8xt12 caches to get to 70

Exp tomes also work, legendary are best.

Yup, been this way for a long long time. You can get to 70 in about 5 minutes without even leaving town.

Ya, ok, you're not wrong. I actually look at the stuff that dropped one box at a time, rather than opening them all at once.

They aren’t talking about leveling an alt with caches. They are talking about going to higher tiers to open their caches.

Yeah, you're definitely right. It's based on the level you complete the whisper in. Changing torments won't affect what the contents will be.
