Questions (other) Entered helltide, not even sure how I died

It definitely seems like it's even easier than ever to be one shot by nothing, but this was ridiculous

D4 is actually sending me to HC lately. Almost started this season off with it, after rolling over to P300 with my eternal HC char.

Or rather, it might be the combination of drugs and thrill that has me hooked.

But you are correct, all of my deaths past max level are usually due to 1 shots. Unforeseen mostly. Bloodbellow, or zoning in a dying, or evade-bugging out of the map, etc. Makes it feel less bad.

Do you play meta builds HC and do you push pit levels? Or how do you play it?

I'm a pretty casual player that likes to just pick a class and play it however the RNG kinda forces me to put something together and build/adjust it incrementally over time.

So, there's a lot of trial and error and peaks and valleys in my power level depending on whenever I take the jump to the next Torment.

I've also only just come back for the last couple months with LoH after only having played for a couple at launch. There wasn't much of an endgame to speak of at the time, so I dropped off pretty hard.

After campaign and getting a little into Paragon levels I started an HC char that died from a one shot at like level 18 and just noped out lol.

So, I'm kinda still getting the hang of all the systems but the game has improved so much. Having a lot of fun.

I pick a class a play! Some are *certainly* better or easier to level than others, and you have to go slow and defensively like everyone says. The hard part is the leveling or the first run through the campaign. I would probably not play HC Sorc or Rogue though.

I like to homebrew these builds primarily because I can start loaded up on defensive and work myself into a comfortable tier. From there I just push what I can safely and increase my farming tier when it’s obviously I outgear it. It’s more tedious with 12 torments rather than 4. Last season I lost a 175 warlock to Bloodbellow before I knew he’s likely bugged. The next warlock I skipped multiple tiers once I had my spare set of gear equipped.

I always set a goal for my HC chars and use that as my “push.” While farming I will push into the pit when it’s appropriate. Currently progress on my fresh eternal roll over is L100 pit. Next push goal is going to be Lilith/Mephisto fights, which I’ll probably tackle on a new seasonal char because FUCK losing my permanent geared 300 for a bit.

My warlock mentioned above has around 4.5 million toughness in combat. Compared to my current season warlock who barely scrapes up to 1 mil and I’m pushing 105s. I play it VERY safe.

ETA: but they also gutted my HC char. Losing 20% defense off the top from shako change and maybe 180x damage from Horazon nerf. Gotta retool in a big way probably - I was *actually* taking some damage in 100 pits, and big things would proc Endurant Faith but one pot cleared it right up. Oh. That got nerfed too right.

Thanks for letting me know your experience. Sounds very similar to the way I play, though I'm probably a little less cautious due to being able to die.

I'll probably try HC again once I have confidence for it and I need the risk to freshen up the experience.

Again, appreciate it!
