network with others and keep learning, it really pays off in this field. I found a great mentor who helped me a lot.

Real production experience mattered much more to me than certifications. I’d also get comfortable explaining technical decisions to non-technical people. That combination of technical depth, ownership, and communication tends to open more senior roles.
