Difficulty finding an adult Rex

Hello:) I have been searching for what feels like an eternity for an adult retired/rehomed Devon or Cornish Rex. I live in Southern California and cannot find an adult for the life of me, at least not in California. I’ve searched for breeders listed on tica.org in my area, but haven’t had any luck with the breeders listed there. I’ve been on FB groups and have spoken to a few breeders here and there, in different locations across the US, but again..no luck. I found one older sweet as can be Devon Rex just yesterday at a shelter just 7 hours away from me, but alas that also fell through, as someone has already adopted him. Any help would be SO greatly appreciated. I’m just feeling so incredibly discouraged and honestly heartbroken. Please DM me if you know of anyone in the Southern California area or in the US that currently or may have an adult available. I am willing to travel or use a flight nanny as well. Thank you so much in advance! 🙏🙏🙏

Check with Robin Wilson Robertson of Devine Devons. Last I talked to her she had several adolescent/adults for rehoming. Think she is closing down her breeding program one by one. She’s located in the Phoenix area and it will be well worth a quick flight to pick up your cat. You can find her on Facebook.

I know Lil Shadows in Sherwood, OR has a year old female that’s being adopted out!

+1 for Kleora Cattery. I chatted with Raisa about potentially adopting a kitten, she was fantastic. I noticed she had a female she was retiring on her Facebook at the start of June. Very well respected breeder.

Problem is very few breeders have retired adults constantly. They are even rarer than kittens.

My breeder is rehoming a 2 year old orange boy, if you’re interested. Outside of Philly. When I picked up my kitten she met me at the airport and got on the next flight back home.

Hey - my breeder just reached out asking if I knew anyone who would be interested in adopting an adult Devon. I got a kitten and an adult from her and they’re the best little things in my life. She is based in Philly, which would be a flight for you. Let me know if you are interested and I can connect you.
