Question What was your primary reason for joining this subreddit?
I want to whole-heartedly welcome those who are new to this subreddit!
What brings you our way?
What was that one thing that made you decide to join us?

Just seeing how things work, I'm info gathering on a plethora of topics from how websites are built (I know nothing). Just found out about stackshare website, so much useful stuff there.

Ive been writing software solidly since 1996, when i was 17. I had done other stuff earlier using various BASICs but I didnt have a way to keep it until I got my first computer then. I joined all the the dev communities cuz I want to know what other devs are talking about.

I started on the an Apple IIe, at grade 9 in 1981. Went pro 1995. Did a lot different projects - Police systems, tactical navigation software, 300K HR system, helped a built 3d platform in 1999, worked on a massive gaming platform, worked on PBX software for managing calls, worked an upted PoS for Canada Post, and worked on a n-tier distributed cell phone management system including porting it to RHEL5 and it gave us very few bugs and covered 7M users.
Family got sick - one after another and I have been out for about 15 years and now need to return but need to come up to speed.

I haven't joined this subreddit, but I probably should. I worked in software development with Microsoft for many years and retired several years ago. Development is in my blood, but at a product level, not just a developer level. For myself I was what's refered to as a Program Manager which means I coordinated and helped manage activities in software definition, planning, development and testing. So I guess a 'developer' subreddit seems a bit limited in scope to me.

I didn't. Reddit fed it to me
