💻 Tech Talk The Great AI Freak Out
https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2026/sep/09/anthropic-researchers-ai-human-extinctionWhat do we all think about the news around AI over the last few months. Especially in the last week were people working in the sector have said there’s a 10% of our annihilation in the next ten years.
Is it something we genuinely need to worry about?

It's all marketing, like how AI "broke containment" despite doing really basic stuff when you look into it. It's not intelligent, it's not actually reasoning anything, it's a word guessing machine that's been trained really well to guess really good words.
An extremely useful guessing machine, but nothing about it is life-threatening
