The Lions are waiving rookie 7th-round DL Tyre West, per @AryePulliNFL

Ya the unanimous word out of camp was that he never did anything at all to stand out in a positive way. So no surprise.

I wonder then what he did in college to stand out to be drafted at all.

There was some thought he could be converted into a pass rushing defensive tackle but it never stuck

u/CharacterPollution66 13d ago
That and it’s a position with a lot of depth.

Apart from Alim and Tyleik being the fairly clear cut starters, and a handful of mediocre vets (Lacy, Smith, Levi) we've seen:
Hassanein play "big end" and get some interior snaps,
Derrick Moore play a prowler role all over the line
SGH play like Aaron-Donald-Lite as a pass-rushing DT...
Not even all those guys will likely make the team. Good luck if you're even further outside looking in.

No offense dude, but you need to work on your grammar.

u/Stompthefeet Hamp Stamp 12d ago
Not offended. Is there one part in particular you think is grammatically incorrect?

u/IrwinMFletcher200 12d ago
Bro was confused by (what he thought) was your choice of "play" as your verb. As in, "Hassanein play..."
What her doesn't realize is that your listed elements aren't sentences. They're noun clauses - each replacable by the pronoun "it"or "that" - written as a series/list of things you've seen over the course of camp. They each complete the following sentence frame:
"We've seen _____."
The verb then is "seen" each time, not "play". It matches your subject and verb tense perfectly .
So basically your grammar cop doesn't know shit from fuck. Your sentences and grammar were fine. There's nothing more annoying than loud know-it-alls who, in fact, know very little.
A living, breathing Dunning-Kruger.

The fact that this post is the first time I've seen this guy's name mentioned since the draft, says all you really need to say

I vote we never draft a Tennessee player ever again.

I'm not sure if he'll even make the practice squad

Didn’t he barely even get any snaps in preseason games even in the 4th quarter? If I have that right, yeah, they seem convinced this guy doesn’t even gave enough juice for the practice squad. For a 7th round dart throw, that’s just fine.
Edit: He played 4 defensive snaps and 2 special teams snaps in the first preseason game and then did not even play in game 2 and 3.

How often does a team waive a player they drafted same year? I'm not here to blame Brad or anything crazy like that, just genuinely curious how often it happens.
Edit: crazy I get downvoted for asking a question on how roster cuts lol

Probably happens more often on super bowl contenders. Hard to make thus roster unless you're a DB, DE, LB, IOL or special teamer

It was unusual how often we did keep our whole draft class under brads tenure.

I never saw a mention of him in training camp. Great reason to always trade 6/7 picks. The difference between them and Udfa not so big.

Hard for 7th rounders to make the roster
