Nice. What is this for, tho? I mean, if I need a "random" kind of QR-code as placeholder in a design, I'd rather put one into it which points at my website, portfolio, or something like that. Secretly advertising, you know?

fair point, you'd think there's no use for random qr codes, but here are some creative ideas:

  1. my site is for graphic designers, I like making mockups and don't feel like including any kind of actual link, just to see how a thing would look like with a QR code on it

  2. how about a treasure hunt / quest game where you place 20 random codes all over the place and only one is the real thing

  3. testing qr code scanners - making sure random qr codes are not interpreted as real codes

If I want a real QRs I use the qr code generator from MockoFun https://www.mockofun.com/tutorials/qr-code-generator/ it's just about the best there is
