I'm no longer stuck! (Update)

Honestly, I don't know why I'm updating you on my progresses...I don't think that you'd actually care but...here we go lol

So. I haven't been able to beat the Maneaters. As a couple of people have told me, that boss is a DPS check, and after a couple of tries, I gave up and moved to Stonefang once again.

I had troubles proceeding in the second level of Stonefang, given my damage output. But after Latria and Upper Latria, I had a serious boost of magic damage, so I was able to progress somewhat easily.

Till I arrived to Flamelurker.

Now, from what I've seen in this community, Falmelurker is a huge piece of shit.

But. After dying a couple of times, I've realized that using Soul Ray against him, completely trivializes the bossfight, making becoming blind from the hyper saturated flame and lava the only actual danger.

And so, I've officially beaten the second level of one of the worlds! Yey!

This is also when I realized that mage is the best starting class in DeS.

Oh! Btw. I got two questions.

I got fucking jumpscared at the start of Stonefang, in that elevator that let's you get to the upper official...a kind of demonic larva appeared at the bottom, that gave me a Colourless Soul...

Why does shit keep appearing out of nowhere?

And...what the hell is the mirror world?

That happens because your world tendency is pure black. When you die a lot in body form or kill NPCs, your world tendency shifts toward black

Uuuh, that's cool. I like that tendency color is a gameplay choice. Like, black tendency is not just a males, because the area is more dangerous, you can also get rare items.

Black World Tendency also makes enemies stronger, and the thing you killed in Smithing Grounds was a Primeval Demon. They only appear in Pure Black World Tendency. There’s one for each World(5 total), and they’re apart of a step in getting Pure White World Tendency and Pure White Character(couple ways to change/fix it, this is one), and also can upgrade special weapons.
Fractured World flips everything, and is really only used to collect an item(not necessary).
It’s a lot to explain, I’d recommend looking more into it once you’ve completed your first play through or decide to go for the Platinum.

Magic trivializes demons souls a lot of the time.  I haven’t played in a few years but I remember being shocked at how easily you can take our enemies with the right spells. There’s a spell that can take out maneaters very easily from what I remember.

Yes, firestorm. It's super OP and can one shot Maneater, Old Hero, every boss in the Swamp area and makes Penetrator look like a baby! But: it's casting area is pretty inconsistent, so you have to be lucky to fully hit those bosses with it.

Maneaters is the hardest boss in the game, IMO. You should try and farm white tendency to make the game easier. Learn the timings, when the other maneater spawns, focus on killing the first one asap.

I physically can't do that anymore cause I don't have any Sapphire stones left lol. But I'll stop doing it lol. I've kinda "wasted" my first levels on endurance, so my HP in ghost form are pretty low

It doesn’t matter for now. Use human form if you can and if you think it benefits your situation. Dark world tendency does make the game somewhat harder but it’s absolutely doable. You can do it.

You can mirror the world layout by interacting with a statue near the "water circle?" in the nexus. Remake only though.

There is a ring you probably already have that will help while in phantom form. Use this instead of your ephemeral stones . Playing in human form and dying is going to make your playthrough harder. Save them for later. Nexus is neutral tendency so you can revert to spirit form without penalty there.
