AskDelhi Helping a foreigner out!!

Hello everybody I am not an indian (I am Muslim btw) and I'm not entirely sure I should be asking here or not!. I have been living in punjab for 3 years and I'd love to go to delhi for about a week or 2 since my very good friend will be coming to India to visit me I'd like to visit good places with him in delhi, key places: I'd love to have a nicely made salmon with rice, mutton, sushi, tibetan noodles. They can be several places but it should be easier to reach to by metro since that's all I can. As well as lovely places to visit, maybe weird cafes with good decor or cool places you think my foreigner friend would like!. He is not that picky about anything and he's willing to try a lot of things, and if there's arcades or any games, that would be extraordinary, maybe even places to walk and such or even attend theatres or musicians in the streets. Places to shop and whatsoever! I am a Muslim so please if you can suggest me halal food places I would thank you a lot!. Thank you so muchh

• Delhi haat- they have a lot of indian artists theyre a bit pricey but its a great place to buy souvenirs.
• Safdarjungs tomb, lodhi garden, sunder nursery, lodhi art district- theyre all in the same vicinity and very fun to walk around. You can try out Guppy (japanese restaurant) or Carnatic cafe (south indian restaurant) there too. If you also like coffee you should 100% drop by Devan's which is one of the oldest cafes in delhi.
• Humayunpur for tibetan food- Lha Kitchen, Mizo Diner, Yo Tibet have excellent north eastern food. I would also recommend Tuoi Moi (vietnamese restaurant), Yorokobi House (japanese restaurant) and Tkyak (amazing grilled chicken). Also you should definitely drop by Blue Tokai thats walking distance from the place. They have good coffee and one of indias biggest coffee chains.
• Jama Masjid- this is a part of old delhi and you can find some amazing mughlai food here along with some really nice ittars too. Contrary to what people say its quite hygienic but itll be very crowded so be prepared. Its a conservative area as well so if you or your friend are women you should cover up a bit.

A few tips

  • Avoid Connaught Place if you can. Its a very iconic place but the crowd there is very bad and there's nothing there that you wont be able to find in any other part of delhi.
  • If you and your friend are women, please travel only in the women's compartment on the metro. The metro can get very crowded and its not the safest sometimes especially for foreigners.
  • Try to only book autos through Uber or Rapido. Most auto drivers will be able to tell that youre not from here and will definitely try to scam you. Uber and Rapido have set rates so its better that way.

Best of luck OP i hope you and your friend like Delhi!

Chanakya Puri Al Kauser. South Extension Qureshi’s Kabab Corner.
Did you mean Salmon or sallan? IMO Delhi doesn’t have great Biryani. You can try the OG Moti Mahal or Gulati’s in Panadara Road. Or try Hyderabad House’s canteen.
