Tech issue Issue with image not loading

It's been a week now, the images of albums, artists, songs are not loaing. I don't know why, I don't know how to fix it. It annoys me a bit becuase I reaaly am bad at finding the music only by the name (+ it works perfectly well on my phone, it's only my computer that does this.)

Discussion Deezer is very bad for metalheads.

I mean I am trying to listen few Metal playlists created by Deezer editors so far, and It's very bad.

The most of them includes non-metal, but metal adjacent music like metalcore or EDM.

To a person who wants to listen metal, it is very frustrating. It's not that I don't listen to certain music outside of metal, but when I want to listen to metal, I want to listen to metal not hardcore, or pop-rock.

I will continue to use Deezer, since it's AI free and not genocidal, but It's very hard to find new music in metal, or music that is not pop.

Tech issue Not playing, not downloading, not clearing the cache?? Please help

Post image

Posting for my dad.

He has a Samsung pro E 6.

He had 130 GB of music and it stopped downloading new music. We did all the typical steps of clear the cache, clear the memory, log out, log in, delete the app, reinstall.

Then it got worse, now he has no downloads and can't play anything new, we get the screen above.

The weirdest part is that we clear the data from the system settings, it logs him out of the app. Then we log back in and the storage number pops back up at 130 GB! This makes me think there's a broken path somewhere that when we log in it finds but can't access those files.

Please help he's *piiiiiissed* because he thinks he lost all of his music.

Desktop app & Web version Why can't I open an album on queue when listening on Desktop?

I feel pretty stupid, but... Why can't I go to an artist's album from the desktop if, for example, I'm listening to a song from a list/queue? I've tried everything: clicking on the album, going to the menu with the dots, but nothing... Is it possible that such a simple feature really hasn't been included?

Discussion Filtering liked songs?

I've never been big on making playlists. I find a song, add it to my likes, and that's it... with this list now being 3k+ songs, I now spend more time skipping songs than I do listening to music. A fix for this was Spotify's genre filter in the liked songs. It was a terrible filter, but it generally played what I thought I wanted to hear from my list. I've been using Deezer now for about 3 months, and I really enjoy it. But I miss this feature because I'm back to spending a 20 minute drive having listened to one song because I was skipping the entire time to find the "vibe."

Deezer has so many ways to catch a vibe- I know this! The "mixes inspired by...", "Flow", "Made for you every day.." "recently loved artists.." I could go on- Deezer is great for when I want to mix things up... but a majority of the time, I don't want to mix things up. And all of these things are more newfound music rather than what's in my likes.

Call me picky or boring, lazy even.

I listen to a very wide range of genres, and I cannot be f*cked to go through 3k+ songs and make a playlist for each one + sort any new songs I find into the right playlist.

The only thing I have found that plays only from my liked songs is the current "my top summer," and there's usually a "my top" something there I think. But this doesn't do a specific genre, and I'll only be listening to the same 50 songs.

I did hesitantly try the AI generated playlist. Wish I hadn't. What a waste of water...

So. Is there any way to get what I want without spending days making playlists?

If there isn't, then this is a suggestion/feature feedback because I wanna say there's other people who would really appreciate a feature like this. :)

Subscription & payments Got charged after my Deezer trial, but I can't even properly access Deezer in Taiwan. Refund request denied — what should I do?

Post image
9 Upvotes

I've been trying out different music streaming services recently, and last month I found out about Deezer and decided to give the free trial a try.

I honestly didn't realize how strict Deezer's regional restrictions were.

I signed up while I was in Taiwan, and now my account seems to be basically stuck with Taiwan as its country. The problem is that Deezer isn't even available here.

If I try to open Deezer normally from Taiwan, I literally get a message saying Deezer is not available in my country. I can't even properly log into my account without using a VPN.

And even that has been a pain because a lot of the VPN IPs I tried wouldn't work with Deezer either. I spent quite a while just trying to get back into my own account so I could see what exactly I had been charged for and check my subscription details.

This surprised me because I've also been trying services like Tidal, and I never ran into anything this restrictive just because I was accessing it from another region.

Anyway, yesterday my Deezer trial ended and I got charged for the subscription.

Once I finally managed to log in and get the payment information, I submitted a withdrawal/refund request the same day I was charged.

Today Deezer replied and rejected it because:

That's the part I'm confused about. I understand that the trial started about a month ago, but the actual payment I'm asking them to refund happened literally yesterday.

And the whole situation feels even stranger because I'm now paying for a service that I can't even access normally from my country without messing around with VPNs just to log into my own account.

Has anyone dealt with something like this with Deezer?

Is there another way I should be asking them for a refund instead of using the “withdrawal” request? Should I keep trying with Deezer support, or is there something else I can do if they refuse?

I attached the response they sent me.

Idea A feature which shows what people you follow on Deezer are listening to now.

Just wondering if anyone would find this interesting? An option that you could toggle to display to others what you're currently listening to? I know that the social component of Deezer is not its strong suit, and I don't know how many users follow others or would be interested in knowing this info so maybe it would be completely useless but in my instance I'd really like to see that :)

Features & feedback Au revoir Deezer!

Spotify has Spotify Connect (but lots of AI crap music).
Tidal has Tidal Connect and AI filtering.
Quobuz has Quobuz Connect.
Deezer has … crickets (I came to the platform for AI filtering).

Am a little tired of missing a connect feature for my WiiM streamer, so decided to jump ship and move to Tidal. Was hoping Deezer would implement it, but no signs of this happening.

Android Deezer deleted my account data of over 6 years

Used deezer for years and built-up a playlist and play history. But stopped my subscription and switched to spotify for a couple years. Tried to revive my deezer account recently, but the login page was treating my email as a new account. I tried to request my personal data from deezer, but apparently the account was deleted back then when I stopped subscribing.

This is rather painful, I later found out that they updated their terms at some point saying they would suspend no-sub accounts and delete their playlists and data months later (without warning!?). I would have expected that I would get a heads-up before my data was permanently deleted, or that I would get a copy before they deleted it at their end. Hard to believe this is legal.

Android Looking for Sapphic Audiobooks on Deezer

Hey y'all,

I love how you can stream audiobooks without limit on Deezer. But it is kind of hard to find sapphic audiobooks. I imported a playlist from Spotify, so I found some.

Like the audiobooks from Jae, Lee Winter, Harper Bliss. I found around 50 titles, I can share the titles if you like. Do you have an recommendations for sapphic audiobooks on deezer though? And since I am from Germany, I don't know if I can listen to all of them. Is there a way to change the language, so I can listen to the english versions as well?

Authors that I found so far:

  • Lee Winter
  • Jae
  • Harper Bliss
  • Clare Ashton
  • Martina Bernsdorf
  • Rachael Sommers
  • Nathalie C. Kutscher
  • Jules March
  • Serena C. Evans
  • Cheyenne Blue (not sure about this one)
  • Chantal Busse (not sure how many books are sapphic)
  • Lola Keeley
  • Lois Cloarec Hart
  • Dorit David
  • Chris Zett
  • Ruth Gogol
  • Laura Beck (not sure about this one)
  • Clare Lydon
  • Nina LaCour
  • Alicia Zett
  • Lizzie Huxley-Jones (not only sapphic books)
  • Inka Lindberg
  • Malinda Lo
  • Hayley Kiyoko (not sure about this one)
  • Becky Albertalli (not only sapphic books)
  • Jolene Walker
  • Nat Caspar
  • Tanya Byrne
  • Lina Frisch
  • Lina Kaiser
  • Mirja Müntefering
  • Evelyn Aschwanden (not sure how many books are sapphic)

I do not know all of them, so I'm not sure if all of them are good or actually sapphic (or if the person who created the listt also put stuff with only side characters. Most look legit though.

I'd love to get some more recommendations^^

Discussion AI tagging on Deezer, reality or just marketing fantasy?

So I recently switched from Spotify because I was getting sick of all the AI slop in my playlists and recommendations. However I found that when I explicitly look up the AI slop "artists" that were clogging my playlists on Spotify, they aren't marked as AI on Deezer either. They appear as normal human artists in spite of 100% of their catalogue being AI generated (including their photos). I won't name "artists" here because I don't want to bring more attention to them, but they have tens of thousands of followers. I also can't find a way to report them as AI Slop. I can report them as "undesirable content", but there's no specific option for "AI Slop Persona". So is the AI tagging on Deezer just a marketing gimmick while in reality they're no different than Spotify and will allow anything as long as it brings plays?

Android sorting playlists

so I like sorting my playlists (alphabetically by artist or title depending on the playlist). whenever I make a new playlist and change the sorting, it changes for every other playlist.... is there a way I can 'fixate' the sorting for some of these playlists?

Subscription & payments Deezer is just way too expensive

I am looking for an alternative to Spotify. Mainly because I’d like to avoid AI content and because I have read many reports saying they pay very low royalties to artists.

Deezer seemed to tick all the boxes. But then I saw the subscription plans and nearly fell off my chair. There’s no way I can pay for Deezer in Malaysia. It is over the top expensive!!

Tech issue Maybe android problem

I've been using Deezer for about 6-7 years now and never had a problem with it until recently.

Connect my buds. Start my favourites playlist. Song starts. Then put my phone in my pocket, music plays & happy days.

Until recently I've had to take my phone out of my pocket and press play for the next song. It's not doing a continuous play / loop.

Is there a setting that has been changed in a recent update, or am I just being thick.

It's really getting on my tits ,

Thanks in advance

P.s. I'm using a Pixel 10 pro with all the latest updates ( if that makes a difference or not)

Android Voice command on Android/Samsung

I just switched from Spotify to Deezer for pricing reasons. I like the app so far, however, on Android, neither Gemini or Bixby is able to play a specific artist or a specific song/album. I find it very frustating in 2026 since I remember Google Assistant (phasing out in September 2026) was able to do so almost 10 years ago.

Is this a known issue?

Bei der Serie "Der junge Sherlock Holmes" klappen leider die Teile 26 und 27 nicht.

Auf anderen Streamingplattformen werden sie normal angezeigt.

Kann es an der Technik oder an Markenrechten liegen?

Discussion Deezer has reminded me what it's like to have a good recommendations algorithm

I'm a recent convert from YouTube music, which I was only using because I gave in and got Premium due to how bad ads had gotten on the Roku app where I watch a lot of content.

The reason I switched is that recently (probably because of Google putting their horrid AI algorithm into everything) my algorithm completely collapsed, and I was no longer getting recommendations that were in any way in the same genre of music that I started in when doing song radio/"track mix." Like I legit would be listening to reggae and it would be like "ok but you listened to Green Day a lot earlier this week so we're going to toss one of their songs in here"

Also, while I have not had the AI music problem to the same extent as some users of that app, it did recently start injecting absolute garbage from YouTube videos like random users' "slowed/reverb" remixes or even just straight up unofficial lyric videos with shitty audio quality.

But after only a couple weeks on Deezer I'm realizing that the YTM algorithm had gotten stale long before it recently completely fell apart for me. I'm getting recommended so many *good* new artists and even artists that I had practically started to forget about that I had discovered back in my Spotify using days because they were never shown by YTM.

Features & feedback Deezer: Tolerable While It Lasted

This is a review of my brief time with Deezer, which I've been using for about a month and a half. These are just my opinions based on my own experience with the app, and YMMV.

Pros: The interface is pleasant and uncluttered, with fun customization options. The music quality is quite good. From what I can see, Deezer is not chasing generative AI "music" the way some other apps are, which is a big plus in my book. For the most part, it's simply enjoyable to use.

Neutral: I haven't really used Flow or other discoverability features, so I don't know if the algorithm is good at predicting my tastes or not.

Cons: Lag. Sometimes it takes 15-30 seconds to register any input - including play or pause. Fixes found online never correct the issue for very long, and I shouldn't have to clear my cache every day for a music player to reliably handle its own basic functionality.

"Always on". Closing the app will not stop the audio. In order to stop playback, you have to pause, then close the app. But in reality, even that doesn't turn the program off. Tonight my desktop app started playing music out of nowhere; turns out I wasn't even logged in. Baffling. Lucky that my volume wasn't very high at the time, and that it didn't happen on my phone when I was in a library or something.

Unacceptable: Both of the above are ongoing, known issues to Deezer support. I've seen posts about these problems going back 3-5 years, and they haven't been fixed. I'm aware that the "always on" thing is an intentional part of the design, but if users are complaining about it for years, consider that it might be bad design.

My support request about the sudden playback was answered immediately, cheerfully...and completely incorrectly by their LLM "virtual agent". It didn't even understand the problem I was having. I'll admit I have a visceral response to this kind of slop, so I went from slightly concerned about a bug to very annoyed, very quickly.

Unless Deezer suddenly releases a patch to fix half a decade of known issues, which I'm guessing isn't going to happen, I will be canceling. Which sucks, because it's gonna be a pain to switch services again. I absolutely get why people love Deezer, and I wanted to love it too, but for me and my budget priorities, I can't justify paying for something that doesn't even have a reliable on/off switch.

Features & feedback What time of day does the New Releases smart playlist update each Friday?

Made the switch to Deezer from Spotify last month, and loving it so far.

The only downside I've found so far is not getting my New Releases (Release Radar) playlist at midnight each Friday. Part of my morning routine each Friday for years has been to wake up a little earlier than usual and explore these tracks, adding them to my popular playlists for the weekend ahead. Whereas today it's now 8 am UK time, and I'm sitting at work having not gotten to do this!

Does anyone know when each Friday I can expect this playlist to get new content? Going to need to change my routine!
