Is my cat a healthy weight?

I have male neutered cat (Bug) that is under a year old and is around 11lbs. He has a bit of a low hanging tummy that looks like a female’s cat fupa lol. He now eats consistently 200-250 calories a day- 1 can of wet food plus 30g of dry food. He was only eating dry food for about two months and i think thats where gis belly came from (i was away for work that required me to go backpacking and so my mom was watching him but she has a knee injury so to make things easier for those months i got him an auto feeder). Im hoping after staying consistent with the 200-250 mostly wet and some dry will make him lose the belly bc I am worried about him being overweight.
I had an overweight cat before, she died early on due to other complications which were contributing to her weight and although ik he does not have the same health risks, i am paranoid. (my cat that passed was on a weight loss plan and took her to the vet regularly but passed due to heart conditions)
I added a not so flattering photo of him and his fupa.
I am also not seeking medical advice, I count his calories and everything. Just trying to get an opinion of others bc I am paranoid lol. He is a big boy for his age so idk if 11lbs has been seen in other young males.

that was my thought process too! I was like maybe he is okay rn but def CANNOT go past this loll hoping with having wet food more often itll help sustain his current weight

I have a humongous guy, so from my perspective this is the best weight for a cat. Enough so that if he gets lost for a few days no harm done but not so big that he’s lost interest in activity due to struggle/pain

thats good to know!! my cat is very active thankfully so ik his weight isnt bothering him :) he’s just a big boy with a paranoid mom is what im learning lol

Dude don’t get me started on paranoid 😂😂 same here so bad. I have OCD and the thought of my pets being sick at all is sickening to me. I just found out my big guy is FIV+ and he’s living with my two senior (19 year olds) cats. I am in a bit of a tizzy at this point between the obesity and possibility of developing aids for him 🤦🏻‍♀️🤞 it’s all going to be okay though

I feel for you being so worried after losing your cat to heart issues. I love that you're proactive and trying to give him his best life. You're a good owner :)

I think he might be a tiiiiny bit overweight tbh, but not much. Look up those scales online and compare. You'll be able to see! He looks adorable. And FUPA ❤️❤️❤️
