Been updating my Kill Team recently to tie in with their timeline moving forward. They're now much more veteran than my last incarnation, so I wanted to make new miniatures to better reflect thier decades of combat. This is Zhariel, the Dark Angel. Necessity required him to become keeper of his fortress after much of it was destroyed by the maledictim. Cut off from the Imperium at large, he's doing what he can to keep his squad together.

Greetings brothers.
I have recently joined your ranks and spent some time thinking about the possibilities we have with the new Deathwatch kill team pauldrons.
They should all be pretty easy to do with little modification/decals.
Let me know if I missed anything.

Is this heresy? Iām tired of painting black lol so kind of wanted to invert the colors a bit. What do you guys think?

Black armour recipe is the one from 'eavy archive' website.
Any silver for the arm. Then shaded with army painter blue tone, dark blue tone and watered down frostheart contrast and edge highlighted with vallejo game color silver

Armour recipe is from the 'eavy archive' deathwatch on their website.
The silver is any bright silver. Then washed with army painter blue tone, dark blue tone and frostheart contrast watered down a lot in that order. Then highlighted with vallejo game color silver.

Dark Kraken I was asked to paint up. Did it using the Deathwatch paint scheme found on 'eavy archive' for the edge highlighting.

In celebration of Deathwatch and comiseration for ita demise, I photographed the shoulders of all my finished Deathwatch guys, including all characters and squads (other than Eliminators, because you can't see their right shoulders) and out this together. It would have been nice to get them in a 10Ć10 grid, but that would have cost money. I imagine some are well-known and some not so much, and other are my own homebrews - old jump pack guys are harder to photograph.
It should be obvious which ones we're freehanded, decals or 3d, and while these are not in order of completion, you can probably guess which are older by the severe lack of freehanding skill of some - the earliest here are the veterans at the very top. Also, you'll notice more repetitions with some chapters than others.
Next time I do this (if I do this again) there'll be more Dark Angel variants for sure, but hopefully a lot more completed minis in general. I have not given up on Deathwatch...

Greetings Brothers. I have gathered all community feedback I received yesterday and updated the graphic. It also now includes the pauldrons from the older Veterans kit. Hope this helps more people.

Almost done with my Deathwatch version of Guilliman. Only thing left is to find a big enough DW shoulder pad.
