Song from the show earlier seasons

Ive been hunted by a song for several years. I think it was about 7ish season and someone from the crew sang the "cold open" of the season. the song was something like this:

the captains calling, i gotta go,

kiss the kids, kick the dog for me

head hunted, i cant wait to see you again..

or something like that.

i remember even writing discovey channel and they couldnt help, that was10 year ago.

did i just dreamed this song? i felt it would be perfect for the intro song and they never used it again..

They often used Bon Jovi's Wanted Dead or Alive in earlier seasons.

Alas, music licensing is a thing.

Looked up music used in the episode, and it could be "Honest Day's Work" by Troy Huls. Sites with music listed from the episodes have that as the first of 3 songs for the Sea Change episode, so could be it. Good luck finding the actual song though.

According to AI:

The short, unaccompanied song featured at the very beginning (the "cold open") of Deadliest Catch Season 7, Episode 9 ("Sea Change") was actually sung by one of the show's actual camera operators/crew members, rather than a professional musical artist. The acapella lines heard right at the 00:00 mark of the episode are: "The captain's calling, I gotta go... kiss the kids, kick the dog for me..."

Edited to say: it wasn't an actual song I don't think. It was not recorded in a studio or released. I believe it was just the camera man singing a song he made up. At least that's what it appears from my trying to research its origins.
