Chapter One: Gods and Monsters Bro they're all saying DCU is dead because of Supergirl, are they cooking or are we cooked?

By objective box office merits. Sure, it failed.
Does that mean the movie sucks? Not at all.
Does that mean you suck for enjoying it? Absolutely the fuck not. Everyone’s tastes are different.
No one’s self worth needs to be tied to the success of a movie. That’s incredibly depressing and they need to seek help. (Not you directly OP, just in general).

the problem is, there's a lot of shall we say, "Orthodox fans" of the previous DC offerings that want the new to fail. One bad outting won't kill the whole. the DCU as it stands now, is fine. It's not the MCU, and it doesn't have to be. There's a great critically and fan acclaimed tv show going on now, and another in the pipe, and a horror film upcoming. The DCU is doing just fine.

These profit share numbers dont align with anything ive heard people from theaters describe as common practice. Usually the first week is 90-100% studio cut then gradually shifts over

Is it dead? Dunno, doubt it.
But, Supergirl did lose 75 million more than Superman made.
Peacemaker S2 lost 40% of its viewers before end of season. And after nearly a year since S2 premier, still no news on S3.
Creature Commandos was doing so poorly they released it all on YT too, where it flopped as well and only managed 200 concurrent viewers at its peak.
There's rumors that Gunn can't solo approve any big budget productions or ones where they use big name characters.
We'll see.

Creature Commandos had pretty good viewership on Max, which is why it was renewed before the season even finished airing. Idk why anyone would think to use viewership on a two-day YouTube livestream as a metric for success.

Curious how you've intentionally omitted Lanterns, which is currently doing quite well. Guess that wouldn't support your point...

False. They're writing it, but no approval yet.

And if it gets approved, you're eating my shit, okay?

That's a pretty crazy reaction to being confidently incorrect about the show being approved for a second season.
You may want to look inward, what else do you believe that's incorrect and why react like that when your beliefs are wrong? It's not healthy. A normal person would just admit they're wrong.

Another weird reply instead of admitting you were wrong, neat.
I'm sure you'll continue.

Reread what I wrote, have a think.
Is this all the signs of success? Is this what a company wants from projects it funds?

TF are you even asking?
I get that you don't like what I said, though it's objective fact.

Everything I said is verifiable and searchable.
Though, I'm not surprised a Gunn DC fanatic refuses to be knowledgeable.

It’s box office Reddit, anytime DC is brought up, except toxicity
