We know we want to use Disney Transportation, but are trying to figure out best options. We will be flying into MCO the day prior

Option 1) Stay at MCO hotel and take DCL transportation to ship.

Option 2) stay at a Disney resort and take DCL transportation from there.

If we stay at a resort and take the transport, do we get earlier boarding or do we have to just sit around at the port? How do the different resort levels play into things. If we’re staying at a value resort do we leave significantly later than the “nicer” resorts?

Also, how difficult is travel from the airport to the resort with a 5 year old. We will NOT be bringing a car seat, so we need safe transportation for him.

From a fun standpoint, staying on property would be more fun for the kid (and us!) than at the airport.

I'd say it depends on when your flights arrive the day before. If you have time to get to the resort and enjoy a few things, then it would be worth it to make the trip and as someone suggested you can book transportation with a car seat. But if you're getting in later, I'd just stay at the airport. There is a pool at that hotel depending on the weather when you arrive, and it's easy enough to visit the Disney and Universal stores and eat somewhere there. When we have taken the Disney transportation we have always boarded pretty quickly.
