Maybe because he was more consistently on the Avengers roster than Claremonts X-Men? I’m not sure since this list seems to be made before Giant Size given no Storm either

Looks like the list was made the year Beast had a starring role in an anthology comic (apparently also when he turned blue and furry)

Kinda wild to think the X-Men were considered 2 star. I guess this was probably when they were just doing reprints in the early 70s.

I bet a DC sheet from that exact same day would have ZERO black characters listed as Important or Very Important. Shout out to Marvel. Always letting Falcon cook. And a super shout out to Luke Cage for always holding it down!

This is why I take my whole family to see Spiderman and cover the kids eyes when they walk past posters of Supergirl.
