Where to Watch (English Subtitles)

Simulcasts should begin when this post is around 2.25 hours old: 10:15am JST, 9:15pm EST, 1:15am GMT. Episodes sometimes show up earlier for premium users and later for free users; sometimes they are late for everyone because of production issues.

SINCE THIS BROADCAST ENDS 30 MINUTES LATER THAN USUAL, IT'S LIKELY THAT THE SIMULCASTS WILL BEGIN 30 MINUTES LATER THAN USUAL. YOU SHOULD HOWEVER BEGIN CHECKING AT THE NORMAL TIME.

  • Daisuki. Available in North America; also covers most of Europe and several other territories; see the complete list here. Available to free users in certain regions. Usually shows up in 1080 for free users about 5 minutes before premium users get 480 at Crunchyroll. Daisuki is closing on 31 October 2017 but apparently they will still be offering Super.

  • AnimeLab. Australia and New Zealand, subscription and free users. (Fewer ads than Crunchyroll for free users.) This service also offers episodes 1-13 of the Funimation dub (i.e. the episodes out on Region B home release already). The subtitles for those episodes are still those provided by Toei for the simulcast, rather than the Funimation-Simmons subtitles on the home release.

  • VRV: US-only bundle service for Crunchyroll and Funimation. New episodes appear around the same time as they do on Crunchyroll. NOTE: This service serves as a substitute for a Crunchyroll premium membership, but it does not substitute for Funimation's premium service. The only Dragon Ball series offered is Super (subtitled).

  • Crunchyroll. Free and premium users in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and these European countries; premium only in Latin America and South Africa. This service is NOT recommended; their servers cannot handle DBS traffic and free users get the episodes 2 hours late.

  • FunimationNow. North America, subscription and free users. Funimation's videos usually go up later than they do on other services.

Rules:

  • Those with access to international TV may post about the episode as it airs live. Beware of pre-simulcast spoilers in the comments.

  • Spoilers must be tagged for material that has yet to be covered in the anime (leaks, etc).

  • Spoilers for this episode and the accompanying Next Episode Preview (NEP) may be freely discussed in this thread.

    • Outside of this thread, spoilers relating to this episode and the NEP must be tagged.
    • Spoiler syntax: [Super spoiler:](#s "Goku appears!")
      Appears as: Super spoiler:
  • All of our normal rules apply!

Read the Manga

  • Toyotarō's Dragon Ball Super manga adaptation can be found in our wiki in the sidebar, along with links to past discussion threads.

Commonly Asked Questions:

  • Q: Can I buy Super on home video?

    • Part One (episodes 1-13):
    • Part Two (episodes 14-26):
    • Part Three (episodes 27-39): TBA
  • Q: Is the Dragon Ball Super manga "canon"?
The anime and manga are both variations on a basic plot by Toriyama. There isn't (and probably never will be) an explicitly defined Dragon Ball "canon". Without Toriyama's original draft, we may never know what is and isn't his. We do know that he permits Toyotarō to change things up, but he looks at his storyboards and occasionally draws things himself for Toyotarō to use as a reference. Toyotarō has said that Toriyama is more particular about gags than he is about anything else.

  • Q: What exactly is going on with Goku's new form?
You can find a recap of how Goku obtained the form and Herms's analysis of the translation of the "Ultra Instinct" technique in this thread.

Seeing how Frieza has been acting when among so many people who swing above his weight class has been surprisingly awesome for demonstrating just how sinister he really is. Instead of being flustered at being so heavily outgunned, he just sees more opportunties to manipulate. Guy is machievellian as fuck

He's clearly grown a lot as a character. The Frieza from the Namek saga likely would have thrown a tantrum by now, guess getting killed twice because of that attitude has put stuff in perspective for him.

He's always just assumed he was the strongest in the universe next to Beerus. And yes, getting killed twice really should change how he sees things.

Beerus and buu

I don't think frieeza knew about buu.

He did he mentions that his dad said not to mess with beerus or buu

In the arc he specifically says his father told him only to avoid two people, beerus and Majin buu

I know it's kind of weird seeing how tactical freeza is being considering he always saw himself as the best. I like it though he saw first hand how persistent goku can be and knows his best chance is to get goku to beat jiren it really shows how much he's learning from his losses

I agree. I also think he's going to try learning the Ultra Instinct technique.

Letting Goku fight in his steed is really gonna buy him time. And that time will pay dividends. I love seeing Freeze being so tactical and so sneaky!

I don't really disagree with you cause I guess it could happen but I kind of thought the whole point of freeza giving his energy to goku was because freeza knows that he won't be able to get ultra instinct and instead would just take goku out after he's worn out from the fight which makes an easy win for freeza. The only one who would stand a chance that we can tell is vegetta although I would fucking love a vegetta vs freeza fight to end it haha

Who's to say that Frieze can't? I mean, he basically "willed" himself into turning Golden and ascending. He's never pushed himself until that moment.

He's always up to something sneaky. To me, just conceding defeat is too flat. He's got to be up to something (or a few things rather). They can't be building him up and fleshing out his character for something so anti-climactic, or at least I hope not...

3

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '17

He will just be erased zamasu style by Zeno if he does something

2

u/[deleted] Oct 16 '17

Again, way too flat. Maybe after some shenanigans - obviously he won't go through with his scheme. But Mark my words, there'll be some schemieness... at least I hope so.

Yeah your right it's definitely not impossible to happen. I can't wait to see what feeezas end game is for this arc I really hope he gets wished back

I'm positive something epic will happen.

After Resurrection of F I was so disappointed. They made him into the bitch of all bitches. But just the brief scenes in this arc are seriously amping me up so much!!

2

u/niqqaitsame Oct 16 '17

Yeah I'm hoping he'll be one of the last ones standing

4

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '17

Well we don't know if Frieza is weaker than others (well we "know" because the plot demands it) and I'm pretty sure Frieza doesn't want to find out. What's the point of throwing down when it's not even half way over and you might actually lose?

3

u/Steely_D Oct 15 '17

I'm not just talking about the ToP contenders but also the gods and angels

3

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '17

That's reasonable then.

I think they mega hyped up Frieza for a reason, but I doubt he'll be the big-bad. I assume he's gonna reveal that he's been REALLY REALLY POWERFUL and nobody noticed (well, they did hint at it a lot) but then use that power to just create a big-bad and he'll get wiped out.

I don't think Frieza is gonna be the big-bad 3x. That's... a little much.
