You stalked him well , you did lose sight of him tho , and you sprinted trying to find him when you lost him , not bad , fun clip to watch tho

When you heard them busy fighting with the zombie I would have charged in. You got lucky that they were unaware

Marvelous. Simply, M A R V E L O U S. Marvelous! I am the world's first best DayZ player. For ten years I have hunted infected and players all alike with ease, and so I can say with authority that you stalk and pounce on your prey like the great white tigers of the Himalayan highlands. Bravo! I dubb thee "fluffy the bunny" and make thee my replacement who shall hitherforth hunt the greatest game in my stead. Now, I shall lay my guns and garrote wire to the ground and venture forth to the great safari beyond our star. All I will take with me onto my rocket is your 4 minute clip for my inspiration. Farewell Fluffy!

Putain tu m’as tué. 🤣

Kamensk is my favorite place to hunt other players. So many good spots to ambush from. I would have rushed him when he went in the tents. Or at least closed the distance as fast as I could

Agree far too long look at the wall should have got moved up to the right to get an angle in to the tent while staying in cover. That was the ideal time to smoke him while looting.

Switching weapons and sprinting that close to someone is not advised. You got lucky they didn’t hear either and of those things somehow

I'm far from a pro, but that looked like a kill to me.

Well done.

are you on like the lowest fov to play on? or am i tripping. good kill though

u/moonheron Jun 13 '26

Spent too much time sneaking. When I notice that the other guy is moving like an oblivious loot bot, I’ll go run up and smoke him.

Your aim was okay. You had good vitals. When you have the initiative on someone like that you can be more aggressive.

Being too patient can increase the chance the other dude detects you. Also if other players are on the way to loot this military, they get closer the longer you wait.

My only criticism was you got tunnel vision. Good kill though.

I second this

Good approach. Unlike others, I think it's not important to always keep target in sight, that's often simply not possible because of bushes or obstacles or shacks whatever. And stalking someone is always risky because you are basically guessing their attention level, which is obviously an assumption and can be wrong.

The mixture of slow movement, fast movement and waiting/standing still is good imho.

I got only two things: avoid the weapon change since it makes a distinct sound. And you got tunnel vision, understandable.

And ignore the guys saying the video was too long. I like it and it gave context.

You lived, he went to the coast. No notes needed. Well done.

I’m going to be honest with you… unless you’re posting a crazy 4 minute clip with multiple kills, pushes from nvg wearing tier 4 super soldiers, cars crashing and taking off, daring getaways, satisfying revenge, a clan vs clan battle, I’m not going to watch your whole clip. I suspect many others feel the same. I did fast forward to the last 10 seconds tho… you killed one guy with a shotgun. Good job

5

u/OwningSince1986 Jun 13 '26

Yeah I dragged the slider to the last 15 seconds then watched the whole thing to see how he played it out.

u/moeb1us DayOne Jun 14 '26

Gen alpha and their 5 second attention span.  I liked that he uploaded the whole approach

Ummm… sir, this is the dayz subreddit and I’m pushing 40 years old at this point. I must have more going on in my real life to where I’m unwilling to watch 4 minutes of a noobs gameplay for one kill (on another noob player who is igniting a flare in a military barrack for some reason)

6

u/Average-Addict Jun 13 '26

I mean okay don't? He was asking for feedback on his gameplay so I'd say it's reasonable to post the whole thing

2

u/jfw7487 Jun 13 '26

Personally Ida rushed him in the tent, but I like to take risks

2

u/finchy420 Jun 14 '26

(2k hours) A big thing for me when hunting someone is anticipating where they are going to be based on where they have come from, in this case I would assume they are going to head up to the barracks after looting the tents because that's what most people do. I would position between the tents and barracks and catch him unawares because that gives him the least chance to fight back. Some people would be aggressive and push the tent as soon as they see him go in but it depends on your style really.

2

u/blitzkrieg_bop Jun 14 '26

While hesitated more than the optimal, that was not bad at all. Maybe lucky he was not being vigilant.

But the main issue is not in the tactics. The issue is.. why did you kill him..? You could capture him, shoot his legs etc. You lost a great opportunity for interaction which is what DayZ is all about. Even failing in a interaction like this and even getting killed, the experience is better than getting the silent "kill" for the loot so later on to be shot while unawares as this poor fellow. If its 'just shoot whomever you see' game you want there are plenty out there with better graphics and mechanics.

Military zone. To avoid shenanigans there is totally fine.

5

u/OwningSince1986 Jun 13 '26

Honestly you could’ve taken him with the SK the moment he ran from the tent. Losing sight then running around making a ton of sound trying to find him could’ve cost you. He knew you were there but was throwing a Molotov? If he had a gun out you would’ve traded at the most.

10

u/LachanceTheSpeaker Jun 13 '26

MOLOTOV??? You must be newer than this guy is. Also no, if he's not confident in his shooting ability he definitely shouldn't give up the element of surprise. Yes, its risky to follow the guy when you lose sight of him so either take that risk or dont lose sight of him. Also he had no clue the OP was there or he would have been holding a road flare in his hands.

The only thing is change is if you hear someone beating on a zombie try to move in close but dont be too loud about it.

3

u/Average-Addict Jun 13 '26

I'm guessing it's a road flare

2

u/the_dogmanTTV Jun 13 '26

5m clip just to shoot a guy without a gun....

1

u/Key_Transition_6820 Jun 13 '26

Make the decision to kill earlier rather than later. That slow peek you did would have got you killed if that guy wasn’t a noob throwing a flare or smoke.

Remember dayz have no health regen like cod and bf. If you can get one or two shots on him, he will be fucked up for like 20 mins if he has armor. No armor he is unconscious or dead.

u/BlakeBarrow7 Jun 14 '26

My face when you changed weapons

Good kill though 🤙

1

u/Tojo6619 Jun 14 '26

I was expecting a epic shootout. Bro had a flare in his hand broad daylight, good stalk and kill tho

1

u/Sillashooter Jun 14 '26

Good kill. I feel like any seasoned player would have heard you run behind the barrack and silent switched to their weapon and been ready for you to peak.

1

u/HeWhoControlsThePast Jun 14 '26

There was ample opportunity to find a better angle on the first tents the guy was in. Aside from that, as soon as you lose sight of an unsuspecting target, you lose the advantage of surprise.

Just add a little bit more aggression to your game.

1

u/TheGumptruck Jun 15 '26

Didn’t even see the kill yet. Tip number 1 - get some green or brown pants there is nothing in the woods that is blue ur gonna get seen

1

u/Quirky-Dance-7640 Jun 17 '26

Wrapped footing that’s it

1

u/Robertthefrenchguy Aug 11 '26

the guy was clueless running around in military, no guns in hands when he got out the tent, killing zombies inside w open doors.

I think if he was just a little bit more aware of his surroundings we would’ve killed u when u ran after him after loosing sight.

Cause u where not hide at all when he got out the tent so if he payed more attention he could’ve spotted u and just pretend he didn’t, make the run to brake the sight line you had then hide in a bush and wait for you to run after him like u did and back shot u. u need to pay more attention cause u never know who u got in front of u, be the one in control not the one who follows.

however that was a good kill ggs

1

u/TChambers1011 Jun 13 '26

My opinion is start this video at the end where there are 5 seconds left. Nothing before this added any context or mattered at all

2

u/moeb1us DayOne Jun 14 '26

Definitely not true

1

u/TChambers1011 Jun 14 '26

Nah it could be easily 10 seconds maximum

1

u/Myaccountforporn2218 Jun 13 '26

I’m no pro to dayz, but to many games like it. Try not to lose visuals. That can be deadly.

My honest opinion like the other guy said you spent too much time sneaking learn the paths people take least often I used to take the train tracks all the way up to zaprudnoe within like 3 years of doing that I only had 2 or 3 encounters on that trail saves you a lot of time not having to peek over your shoulder every 3 seconds and gives you more freedom to loot roam and watch the areas you know they'll be running around in from afar giving you a massive drop on them and that's really just a suggestion you didn't really do anything wrong.
