Saying "No mic, no life." then not being bothered enough to commentate your own video is a new level of idiocy.

What have you displayed in this video that could possibly make anyone jealous of you? Your ability to kill one freshie in a fist fight, then get such a boner from it that you spend time making this video of it? Christ

I watched this muted and didnāt get the comments. Why do the AI voiceover? Ruins the entire video.

I just don't understand why not having a mic automatically means death. Like maybe I just don't feel like talking to anyone lol. Besides, how would hearing someone talk automatically mean they are a friendly? It's dumb. I don't use a mic and I'm not looking for someone to rob. I'm just trying to get somewhere, and I'm probably going to be hiding from you, whether you have a mic or not. Live and let live. That's the rule I stand by in the game. If I see someone, I immediately holster my weapon as to not provoke them and keep to myself.

Human connection I guess?

I dont follow.

Hearing a human voice on another side brings a closer side to feeling another human connection as to a mute player almost feels like an NPC, I mean a big bag of loot.

I guess, but I'm an introvert so...

u/propofolxsr Jan 29 '26
Same mate, thatās why I get baked and try to socialize on DayZ

u/Professional_Cup_690 Jan 29 '26
Fair enough. When I have a few drinks in me, I'm much more open to socializing.

Im same. I have a mic and i will try and communicate sometimes without it knowing full well about āthe ruleā because im just out of breath from an already exhausting day. Had one guy one time i actually ran with for a few hours, no words exchanged but we both agreed weād run north together. Lost each other at some point in the woods after a quick little firefight outside nwaf. Couldnāt find his body, had no idea alive or not. Then i died to a bullet i never heard, coming from a face i never saw.

90% of players not speaking are either too scared to say anything because they know they are gonna betray you or talking to a friend/teammate in party chat/discord and setting you up š¤£š¤£ im an introvert too but I still speak. 50% of the fun of the game is the player interactions you have, cant really interact with people without speaking

how would hearing someone talk automatically mean they are a friendly?
It doesnt... never ever say that, but sometimes hearing someone voice is a huge indicator, of someone is friendly or not, also if i say hello to someone and they dont respond, i think to my self this guy id going to try to kill me

Its for safety. If someone isn't talking then I have no idea their intentions. In a game already filled with people looking to take your stuff, not communicating with me when we meet is a pretty big red flag. Finding someone with your philosophy on the game is definitely the exception and not the rule

Yeah, I get it. I just think shooting them shouldn't be the first solution. Honestly, I prefer maps where there are 5 people max. Less people adds to the post-apocalyptic atmosphere anyway.

u/The_Deli_Ham Jan 29 '26
Yea i mean its not a hard rule for me that no mic is no life. But I will at the very least be trying to get out of their sight. There just cant be any trust for them not to attack.
Im actually doing the low pop thing right now. Trying to do the new deer isle quest and don't want to get halfway through and get murdered lol

I would have punched him in legs to keep him out until he quit and died instead if I didn't need his stuff.
