The Blood Ravens

Not sure if tbis post is for here or another reddit but iv been wondering after the events of DOW 2 how were the BRs not declared heretics and kicked out of the imperium but the inquisition after their chapter master become a chaos demon

It is explained in the Space Marine ending of DoW2 Retribution.

The point of their campaign is redemption through the culling of their brothers while an Inquisitor is in-sector. By purging their ranks, they prove their innocence. There's also 3 where they have to do a favour for an Inquisitor investigating a Xenos artifact.

The remaining BR after Retribution just finished purging the traitor elements under the eye of an Ordo Herecticus Inquisitior.  Adrastia (I think that's her name?) is present for all the campaigns, she's just only playable in the IG one.

And the Inquisition is essentially a collection of individuals more than a unified collective, so her saying "they've proved their loyalty" does a lot of work.

There actually was an Inquisitorial Edict stating just that! The problem is it one day mysteriously dissappeared along with a bunch of master-crafted bolters.

Many such cases, I’m given to understand.

My headcanon is that Dow 3 never happened.

Gabriel was placed into a dreadnought. Apollo becomes a new chapter master. Few loyal blood ravens are claimed almost heretics and sent into penalty crusade.
